Caroline Wensink needs to come back as a setter. She couldn't be worse than Dijkema and Stoltenborg.

I can't wait the start of the tournament. The EOQT is probably my favourite volleyball tournament which I've followed since 2004.
And I have many memories connected with Poland matches in the tournaments. Some great wins and some painful loses... Especially the lost match against Turkey in the semifinal 2004 to this day is so sad for me.
For me nothing beats the heartbreak after our loss to Russia in Halle. When we were down 0:2, won the third set 25:11, then levelled the game and we were up couple of points in the tie-break, till Skowronska made serve mistake.. I saw this match once, when it was live, and I refuse to watch it for the rest of my life. Never again.

Whatever happens, Antonella Del Core wants to finish her career after this season. She also wants to start a family with her husband Francesco.

Wow...she has the same glasses as her son. I wonder if she (or anyone else) thinks she looks beautiful with those colours in her face
I don't know, but look at this from another perspective: she was born in the Thirties, so her sense of fashion might be different than ours
Anyway, if you follow the interviews with Gamova, you'll see that she gets asked about her mother-in-law quite often.
Moscow won against Severyanka 3:0 in the battle for the third place, no surprise there.

By the way, who was that terribly overdressed and painted old woman in the crowd cheering for Kazan? She was shown on TV all the time during the last points...
Gamova's mother in law. She's famous Russian actress and director. Her son (Gamova's husband) is a filmmaker.

Is Garay in the starting six? If not, has she been inside the court at anytime already?
She was and she played the whole match.
Moscow
5 match balls, including three when they had 14:11. Kazan needed just one. I'm not really sure what to make of this match as I think Moscow was a better team.

The finalists of the Russian Cup are: Dinamo Kazan, Dinamo Moscow, Dinamo Krasnodar and Severyanka Cherepovets. Severyanka won the grouo in Yekaterinburg, while Uralochka lost all the games (I guess Karpol send junior team again). Anyway, the Final Four will be played between 3-4 of December.

According to CEV there can be 14 players, see point 7 of Official Communication No. 1: http://ebook.cev.lu/competitions/COQT/oc/
Thanks for the link! I was looking for the official info from CEV. Well, Marichev says 12 players, so I was just quoting him. But I guess he's wrong. Or maybe he intends to take 12 players only

She'll have an open invitation to the NT till she's 60
The main thing about QT in Ankara is that you can only take 12 players, so coaches have to think very carefully about who goes and who stays at home.
Also - no Kuzyakina, she's injured. Daria Talysheva will be called instead of her. Max 15 players will train in Novgorod and Russia will play two friendly matches against Volero Zurich. -
The most interesting (or maybe I should say the only interesting) thing from Kazan-Krasnodar's game was when Isaeva got the point with her head.

Thaisa, Fabiana & Walewska
and Fofao on the far right. Talk about the powerhouse

Could somebody please post a link to league game stats. Thanks.

Neslihan playing as setter vs. Ilbank
[video]
This is just...
I absolutely adore Nesli and for me she will always be one of the greatest. Thanks for posting the video!
