Ci's probably lived in the states now longer than she did in the UK. Probably natural for her accent to get more Americanized, especially being around so many American broadcasters, who have their own specific tone.

Some people never lose their accent regardless of their time in exile, but English and American accents are not that far off from each other in relation to say Hungarian/Magyar vs American. Its very difficult to iron out your Hungarian accent into a perfectly sound American one due to considerable lingustic differences.

She is not better than the ones you mentioned yet.

Suvorova was out for most of the French championship and came back as a beast in attack, as she was in the youth tournaments.

She is superior to all her rivals of the same age in this aspect.

Possible, but Kiseleva is 18 years old and Suvorova is 21 yrs old, there is a huge upside for Kiseleva given her age.

Where is Lyashko? She didnt want to join NT? If so, other NTs in need of MBs might be eager to recruit or nationalize her.

MB: Yulia Brovkina, Angelina Lazareva, Viktoriia Pushina, Natalia Suvorova

I anticipated Daria Kiseleva to be there. She was the best blocker in the final round of playoffs in the Russian SL, one of the best blockers of the regular season, and she is only 18 years old. 198 cm tall. Huge prospect for the future. Her attacking needs to be improved, but I honestly think she is already superior to some of the selected players like Pushina and Suvorova.

It is quite curious that after the USA, China and Japan are the nations with the most female coaches.

I believe this is due to Lang Ping's influence in Asian countries.

Countries that are considered "conservative" regarding the role of women in society have more female coaches, while more "liberal" countries like Brazil, Italy and Türkiye have very few.

Neither Brazil, Italy or Turkiye are particularily liberal countries when it comes to women. The situation in those countries are complex. In both Brazil and Turkiye there is a preponderance of liberalism in the urban areas while conservativism thrives in the rural areas, and I guess the pattern is fairly similar in Italy as well with a major divide between south and north.

Bad news for Sweden: Alexandra Lazic (Busto Arsizio) follows in the footsteps of Pietrini & her Italian counterparts and decline to play for Sweden NT this season. She wont play in either Golden European League or WCH and cites "personal reasons" as the cause behind her absence.

I assume Sweden is going to opt, as OHs, for the duo Hanna Hellvig (the sister of Jonathan Hellvig, Olympic Gold Medalist in beachvolley), who represented RC Cannes last season, & Anna Haak, thus fortunatelty for Sweden their depth on the OH-position is sufficient to deal with this blow in a decent fashion.

If you don't play well in your club, you don't make good money. As simple as that.

I agree in general, but look at Bianka Busa, who is like a glorified Alexandra Lazic. Do you believe she would have played for Vakifbank and made 250k+ per year in case she represented a mediocre NT such as Sweden, Finland or Slovakia? Busa has accumulated a wide range of medals from NTs and being a world champion broadens her level of exposure and makes her more marketable.

Are you sure that their defense would be good enough so that they can play together( let alone their passing). Also Orro likes overloading the opps anyways, so would Antropova even be getting enough attempts as oh?

Antropova on court brings vastly inflated strength in attack, block and of course - service. Her serve is the best in the world outside of Arina. She might also be the best non-mb blocker in the world. Last season she had like 20 more blocks than any other opp or oh in the Italian league. Of course, she is going to be a liability in reception and the defense might somehow suffer, but Antropova is an incredbile defender for her size, possibly the best defender I have ever seen who is 200+ cm. Hence, all-in-all the pros are certainly outweighing the cons, at least from my perspective.

Velasco should, imo, try out Antropova as OH and Egonu as OPP. She did play as an OH in Scandicci some matches in the past, when Lippmann was the main OPP of Scandicci back in the 2021-2022 season. They have De Gennaro in reception, she should be able to cover Antropova to a considerable extent.
