Hyundai beat Heungkuk life insurance on the playoffs and are going to play against IBK for the champion trophy.
Lizz McMahon has an injured finger, not certain that she would dare to play.

I really wonder if any decent american college players would be interested in Korean league's try-out this year, they rely on the foreign player way too much and it definitely causes physical issues.

Did you see the salary for getting past the tryouts? $130,000 or $150,000. Better than playing in a lower level league in Europe, which has more competition for positions. Use it as a building point to move to better leagues, hopefully at higher pay.

    Quoted from "Emurock"
So will the USA be pushing hard now for the Russian Men's volleyball team to be kicked out of the Rio Olympics? Seems the USA won't be happy until all Russians are excluded from Rio. American decline is worse than I thought, the fading of empire is so rapid. I wonder what the blow back will be on the USA? Russia must eventually return fire on the USA in this war America seems so desperate to fight(Why would the USA wants another war when they always lose them and so publicly as well).
Seriously ... This is the most ridiculous comment I've read on this forum ... What does America has to do with the lack of professionalism and mess oft he Russian Federation ??? Oh, let me think , as an old proverb says : blame someone else of your own problems ...give me a break , Move on , and go with your absurd and nonsense rhetoric to somewhere else .

Ps: just to clarify, this comment goes directly to the blogger who posted above post. As An American , I have a great respect for the Russian people and their strong history and culture in sports.

In soccer, teams playing in UEFA competitions have had to forfeit matches when teams use illegal players on the pitch. The results of the drug tests came after the match. Do you make the Russian's play the French again, this time in France? What other recourse is there? The FIVB could say France gets in as that they played them in the Euro Qualifying Final and then send Russia back to the World Qualifying Tournament in Japan.

The FIVB is not going to make the CEV replay the whole damn tournament on short notice.

The Russian Sports Federation in the past (Soviet Union days) pushed the boundaries on steroids. With the current administration, they did the same thing with all of the best athletes. Look at how many sports not just volleyball got hit, figure skating, tennis, weightlifting, etc. This was a systemic problem, which is controlled by the Russian government. In the States, each of the sport federations are separate from the government. The US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) does the testing as an outside agency. Did Lance Armstrong get caught? Yes. Would it have been bad to have it happen to him, with 7 Tour de France titles and a great story of surviving cancer? Yes. However he chose to cheat and it was too good to be true.

We are in a phase of sports where the scientists are ahead of the testers. This may have been an accident, but with so many people being caught, is it an accident or part of a coordinated system to cheat? We've seen it from Track and Field in the past with the USA and other world athletes.

Araki could probably play until the Tokyo games if she wanted to. She was that dominant for Ageo this year.

Kotoh did not even start the final games of the year for Hisamitsu, why Manabe put her on the team, I do not understand. Last year she was a little better than Miyashita, but she is the oldest player on the roster.

Ebata was always getting the call from Manabe, she just needed to be healthy.

    My depth charts by position
    Setter
    1. Miya Sato
    2. Tashiro
    3. Miyashita
    4. Misaki Tanaka
    5. Kotoh

    Outside Hitters
    1. Ishii
    2. Kimura
    3. Koga
    4. Ebata (would be higher if Kimura is injured)
    5. Mizuki Tanaka
    6. Nabeya
    7. Uchiseto
    8. Miyabe
    9. Inoue

    Opposites
    1. Nagaoka
    2. Sakoda
    3. Ebata (could be higher if needed)

    Middle Blockers
    1. Araki
    2. Ohtake
    3. Shimamura
    4. Yamaguchi
    5. Okumura
    6. Itoh
    7. Kawashima

    Liberos
    1. Arisa Sato
    2. Tsutsui
    3. Mio Sato
    4. Torigoe
    5. Maruyama

Some of this is based on team performance as well.

Hisamitsu basically did not look like they deserved to make the Final 3 after their first 3 matches, but they had to win 4 straight matches to win the title, which they did.

They have a great core of players, and I have them as the favorites to win next year. Toray will drop a little if Saori Kimura does retire (has not announced it yet, but from her expressions after the Final 3 loss, it is expected).

Hitachi should stay where they are with a good core. NEC should improve with Koga getting more experience this summer. JT Marvelous will be a threat because they dominated Challenge I this year. Okayama I think will be fighting to stay out of the relegation zone. Toyota Auto Body will be in the same boat, they can't set Rahimova all the time right? PFU with a healthy Ebata will cause problems as well.

Nagaoka was by far the best player in the league. Koga fell back, this could be due to the fact that she just turned pro last season, so this was her first full season as a pro.

The Japanese Volleyball Association has named their 28 players for the 2016 season, which will include the World Qualifier, World League and Olympics (if they get there).

I feel sorry for Lauren the Hirachi Rivale fairy tale ended this way in a final. Too bad they let Ebata go. With some extra power from her they could be way better team. On the other side, after a strange season, Hisamitsu Springs are back as champions. Last season they dominated the whole torunament before falling in final, this season they did the opposite.

    Individual awards?

I'll get to them tomorrow, just got back last night from a business trip. So, trying to catch up on stuff at home.
