Roberto Garavelli, role B referee and linesman in women’s Serie A, passed away in an accident at work.

The Lega Pallavolo Serie A Women shares the grief of Roberto Garavelli’s family and the Fipav Referee section.

    I saw the news on http://www.legavolleyfemminile.it .
    Anyone can provide more details?
I remember a judge was fainted in a match in WC07.
Not easy as judges and linesmen really.
Share my deep grief with Roberto Garavelli’s family.

I have heard, that Bonitta's wife has some pregnancy complications. Her life and her child life is in danger... So , this reason seems to be enough.

If the condition is that serious, I can understand Bonitta.
When I read the news said Bonitta leave because of his wife's health problem, I thought of his irresponsibility at once. All ball games are team works. If anyone leaves the team because of minor personal reasons, I really can't accept it. The coach, especially, he is the commander of the team, how could he leave? But if the case is like Bonitta's, he should not be blamed.
International games are for the public that anyone has right to comment. I think what we have said are just comment, not judgement. Besides, I don't think unimportance can be used as a reason to leave.

I read the news telling Bonitta leaves Polish Team because of his wife's health problem. Anyone can tell me how sick is his wife?
I'm sorry I cannot accept his reason to leave the team during the game, unless his wife is in serious condition.

    Poland - USA 1:3 (21:25, 25:12, 25:27, 17:25)

Youstyna, why do you say that?
It was pity that Poland lost the game. They played very well in the 3rd set but lost finally because of careless mistakes.
In the 4th set, Pol had good start. But the girls seem exhausted, maybe nervous, they made so many mistakes, especially Kasia. :(

I can read the passage without problem

Lothie is right. Players play aboard make space for local young players play in local clubs.
The treaty is acceptable for me if it is applied in international games only. However, it's really hard to understand to apply it in national games. Unless FIVB hopes each country train their players without cultural cross, just want each team is pure.

Like LothiePG, I was impressed by Soko's attitude.
Last year, the Rus NT played GP in HK. Before the match, the team did warm-up exercise. Soko spiked out a volleyball and a helper picked up the ball for her, and Soko said thank you with smile.
I was quite surprised by Soko's action cos not many players treat helpers in this way.
However, I read an article by a translator closed to the Rus NT, telling that Soko knows how to build up image in front of the public. In private life, Soko may not so nice as to the public, even she is a bit cold!

A polish girl told me that polish people always sing 'Polska BIAŁY CZERWONY' repeat and repeat in all kind of games, including soccer and volleyball.
The melody is from a psalm that the lyrics are replaced by 'Polska BIAŁY CZERWONY'. Justyna should know which one I mean.

I watched some videos of Russel Peters on Youtube. One of them tells a profane gesture in Italy. I found it was interesting. :D
Maybe you think this is an improper topic, but for me, understanding subculture maybe a way to get known of other societies. :P
Any one can tell me more profane gestures in your place?
