Because German clubs don't have enough money to play in Champions League, and in CEV ranking system we don't get a spot there anyways now. I also think German teams aren't strong enough to compete there, I mean they are like Mulhouse or Rijeka, but not a serious contender, so it's better to save the money...

Wow what an amazing battle between Foppa and Cannes. Both teams really played on a high level and fought as if it were the final match. Incredible match of Christiane Fürst, even if Gujska sets her so bad balls she still can score. Victoria Ravva was amazing in 3rd set together with Salinas, but the other players didn't contribute enough. I think Marchenko isn't good enough yet to play consistently on a high level.

Cannes plays so much better with Salinas as setter. Ravva can show only half of her potential when Antonijevic plays

Novara won 3:1 but oh dear it hurts watching them
Even though they won two sets 25:14 they were not at all convincing, it was more because of Muszynianka playing even worse

I hope Naz and Eda will be better soon. The scary thing is that even without them Fenerbahce is so impressive
Gamova and Osmokrovic both are in such an amazing shape and the teamwork is so good too. -
They can have 4 on the court at the same time, I'm not sure how many there may be in the team in general...

Lo Bianco has restarted with some light training but is not available for the match against Cannes yet. So I expect another victory for Cannes this week...

Cornelia Dumler --> end of career

Ok I found out that Conny Dumler finished her volleyball career and this season played one match in the club of her hometown (Ansbach) in a quite low league in Germany. Sorry to hear this, she was such a good player

I think Cornelia Dumler isn't playing at the moment. There is no information about her anywhere, I will try to find out something.
Veronica Angeloni from Piacenza to Perugia, or should I say from one bench to another

Karpol's book is really very interesting, I got it some years ago from a Russian friend and read it many times. I think it's not available any more though

Yeah when she played in NCAA she said in an interview that her teammates are jealous because she wins all the awards and such stuff, as a consequence she was excluded from the team. She could have returned if she had apologized to the team but she refused...and obviously she didn't learn anything from the issue. Some of the stuff she wrote was really sick, like complaining that she had to take her clothes off for medical examination and that all doctors watched her when she did exercises for ECG

The blog has been deleted now but I've read some extracts on an Italian forum. It's really nasty stuff, she calls last year's setter (Valentina Serena) "the reincarnation of devil" and "Edward Scissorhands", she calls her coach "retarded" and "bipolar" and there's a lot more stuff about other teammates, opponent teams, the fans etc...
