Results will be updated regularly here

On the top of my mind I can remember two setters called Alexandra: Serbian Milosavljevic, ex-NT player and the last seasons in Maribor and Romanian Kapelovies, but she is really bad and as far as I know she will play in a Romanian team.

Due to the illness of some players, Vilsbiburg will not be able to participate at the tournament in Dippoldiswalde.

:white: Bad news...what's up there? Stomach flu epidemy?

EDIT: Vilsbiburg website says some players are infected with Adeno virus :S I hope they'll get well soon and not infect more teammates...

By the way, Sonja Newcombe made a new entry to her blog. Very nice to read that she feels well in the team and enjoys her time here :)

An Achilles rupture partial or not is a very serious injury that requires much longer than 2-3 weeks. Hopefully, the Russian media is just speculating.

And you don't get an Achilles rupture from twisting your ankle...Volleywood posted a video of the incident and while it surely looks bad, I've seen way worse ankle injuries (e.g. Janine Sandell in Olympics, possibly the worst I've ever seen and she is out for about 3 months). Ankle injuries are damn painful, but when nothing is torn, Bartek will be fine in 2-3 weeks.

Del Core is right. Why does one go to the press and talk about the internal problemes instead of trying to solve them each other. It just makes the case even worse. The dynamic and ambiance in the team will be effected very much. And do we know that Piccinini is not also guilty ???
I am completley against such a behaviour. If you have y problem, try to solve it through the coach, assistent coach, through the players of the federation and not going publicly with this story ! We do not have to know about the fuzz behind the closed doors. Do we want to know whats going on in the bedroom between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt ? Me not, others maybe.

Im sorry but Piccinini shouldnt have gone to the press, as easy as it is.

Basically I agree, but I think you miss one point: 2 months have passed since Olympics, and in that time the things should have been solved within the team, but as Piccinini says, nothing at all happened and nobody from the staff etc has done anything to solve the problems. If Piccinini had gone to the press right after Olympics, I'd agree with you, but as nothing happened for 2 months, I really don't blame her for it, especially because this is also something she complains about, if the responsible people (=coaches, federation, players) had talked about the events she wouldn't have had to go to the press at all eventually.

No, Del Core's one... If you read her words it seems like she has something to hide
Leo did not said somethinkg "special" it simply was a reply to Piccinini

Yeah, Del Core's words are definitely the most stupid of all so far :wall:
I know that you are a big fan of Leo, and I admire her as player too, but reading between the lines of her statement it's obvious that she doesn't seem to like Piccinini that much.

For me, Leo's words confirm that everything Piccinini said was true, and I really do not like that little cruelties towards Picci in what Leo says. Especially the last sentence is a clear sign that the other players dislike Picci because she often did not come to NT for various reasons but still was called back again and again. But so what??? She is a very important player for the team, so it's normal that any coach wants to have her in the team, and as far as I remember usually when she was not with the team she had problems with health, she was not like Lyuba who changed her mind about NT every 2 weeks

I think Italy NT needs a BIG change. I consider Barbolini a very good coach, but there are times when the dynamics in the team and staff simply need a change. If Barbolini stays, the only chance for Italy is that several old players leave the team and make room for the new ones. By the way, I agree with USAFAN that players nowadays can play longer on a high level than before, but the problem is that old players tend to become easily satisfied with themselves and are not as hungry for success and improvement as younger players. For me, this was the main reason for Italy's failure in OG. It was obvious in quarterfinal that Korea wanted the victory so much more than Italy and was ready to give much more for it, on Italy's side many players probably thought "this is only Korea, we'll beat them easily", and when they realized that it's not that easy they got annoyed and waited for Korea to stop playing instead of working harder to improve their own play. And that's a tendency I often observe in "old" teams/players, they often appear too self-satisfied...

Next weekend, the traditional Dippold-Turnier in Dippoldiswalde (near Dresden) will take place. 8 teams from German league will play there

Pool A: Schwerin, Suhl, Münster, Aachen
Pool B: Dresden, Vilsbiburg, Hamburg, VCO Berlin

Pool matches will be best of three sets, semis and finals full matches.

It's not a matter of believing, it's just hard to imagine that Anja Brandt made so much progress over the summer to be MVP of a tournament now when she was a very average player before. But apparently she is playing as Opp now (but probably still with MB-style), so I'd really like to see how Schwerin plays at the moment, but looks like there won't be any videos of this tournament :S

I'm not mad, just say if there is way to avoid, and you now you have contract and dont do it, it is unprofessional.

I didn't mean you when I talked about being mad at a player ;) And agree about ways to avoid it, but I guess we all know that those ways can also fail sometimes ;)
