Just another thing...I didn't like so much Travica...I found him not so precise and with little fantasy and rapidity...!!

I DON'T like Travica. At all.
He can be an average setter when the matches aren't important , but when it comes to these important matches he gets nervous and plays TERRIBLY.
    I was embarassed.
And I don't root for Macerata I'm just worried about our NT. He passed more time complaining to the referees than playing.

Grbic amazing, he did EVERYTHING he could, soooo great. Travica maybe should take some lessons from him.

Seems Monza is not interested for playing challenge cup next season or what is going on? De Cecco, Conte and Nikic all didnt play today... any other reason?

Monza WON'T exist next year, that's why.
Also I read on De Cecco's twitter that his hand is not exactly ok and he doesn't know if they'll operate it soon or after London... poor Luciano :(

Agree with you, it was better with the 5 matches,
for the fans it must be incredibly frustrating... I mean I went to the V-Day the other year because it was here in Rome but I can't imagine how it could have been for Cuneo fans who travelled for uhm, 8-9 hours to see their team lose soooo badly...
I know that this year it would have been almost impossible with the Olympic qualification tournament starting reeeaaally soon, but it sucks anyway

Aaand remember, tonight Macerata-Cuneo is on tv :) 8.30pm

The final will be only one match, it has been like this for 3 years now. I think it will be like this for the challenge cup too.
The one for the Challenge is the 21st and the final for the championship is on the 22nd. :)

Sorry for Piacenza, I was sure they were going to win against Cuneo :(
also Monza did a great match against Macerata, I heard.. couldn't see it because it was on sportube :( but I read some complainings about the referees...
I don't have anything against Macerata of course but seeing always the same teams in semifinals is quite boring haha.
This formula sucked so much, I hope they'll come back to the older one next year.
Surprised by Latina, not for Modena because their last part of the season was terrible, I though Belluno would have passed, but now we're going to play against them for the Challenge Cup. I'm glad there's another game at the Palazzetto :)

I don't even know if Latina will play the semifinals here or in Frosinone - as their Palazzetto is too little.

matches that will be aired this weekend:

    Saturday 7th:
    Trento - S.Giustino , 5.30pm on RaiSport1

    Sunday 8th:
    Piacenza - Cuneo/Vibo Valentia, 5.30pm RaiSport1

    Monday 9th:
    Belluno/Latina - Modena , 5.30pm RaiSport1
    Macerata/Verona - Monza, 6.00pm Sportube.tv

I don't get why they're only airing one match on sportube, what's wrong with Legavolley -___- especially since it's Easter's weekend and a lot of people won't be able to go see their team!
And this formula sucks on so many levels.... i.e., on Sunday in Trento there will probably be S.Giustino vs MRoma, since we won't go and S.Giustino fans who will go there are 25, will there be only those 25 people in PalaTrento? I don't think that trentini will be really interested in that match

Anyway Zaytsev probably didn't win Gazzetta trophy but he won the top scorer chart, that's great :)

I found the list on the FIVB site but wasn't on any argentinian site... anyway.
Coach for this NT is still Javier Weber

Elise, do you have Macerata - Verona? People ask me about this match

yes I do! Haven't copied last weeks matches on my pc yet though.

Bella that pic of the argentines was taken in Japan during the World Cup... they make me laugh so much lol:

and cuuuute Beltchatow players with the bees <3 (poor Konstantin covered by Kurek in the first pic, lol)

    Corsano of course  LOL
yeah the problem with Bari is that he and Colaci are always playing one in reception and the other in defense so atm Giovi is definitely the best option!
I like a lot Cesarini but this year he played in A2, from the stats I saw he's doing grea, but I clearly didn't watch any match so I don't know... Also Paparoni isn't that terrible (but I think he had problems with Berruto too so...) , or De Pandis at Latina... I mean we have so many liberos, is probably the only position where all the teams have italian players, if you think about it! (only Cuneo and Macerata have french liberos, but that is all) .
But who knows, maybe Rossini will surprise me

Anyway I was reading an article that Vermiglio wrote for dallarivolley.it and there was a sentence that made me laugh because he said that playing against Falasca reminded him when they played against each other especially with their NTs and he mentioned Anastasi and said how much he loved the NT with him as a coach because they always smiled at each other, like a way to say that he has a good relationship with the previous coach and now....

I think that the problem with Vermiglio is that Berruto probably had a fight with him back at Macerata last year, I remember the situation was tense, during the playoffs Vermiglio had a fight with Martino because he basically didn't play (and then Facundo played the other games instead of him), so I guess that maybe Valerio argued also with Berruto for his choices, that's of course just an idea that came to my mind, it could be other 49893482 things that coud have happened but for sure Vermiglio is not a quiet person.
That's the only reason because seriously... he's 100 times better than Travica, that's for sure.
Last year I thought he didn't call him because he wanted to make a younger team but now that he called Papi back..... I guess that's not that

Happy for Lanza! :) and Vettori but he called him already last year, I hope that since this year World League won't mean much he'll make him play!

I think that we have better liberos than Rossini, anyway.

    Setters:
Dragan Travica (Lube Banca Marche Macerata)
    Dante Boninfante (M.Roma Volley)
Michele Baranowicz (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo)
    Marco Falaschi (Bcc-Nep Castellana Grotte).

    Oopposites:
    Michal Lasko (KS Jastrzębski Węgiel)
    Giulio Sabbi (M.Roma Volley)
    Luca Vettori (Club Italia)

    MBs:
Luigi Mastrangelo (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo)
    Alessandro Fei (Sisley Belluno)
Simone Buti (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza)
    Emanuele Birarelli (Itas Diatec Trentino)
    Stefano Patriarca (Marmi Lanza Verona)
    Giorgio De Togni (Sisley Belluno)
    Enrico Cester (Andreoli Latina).

    OHs:
Cristian Savani (Lube Banca Marche Macerata)
Simone Parodi (Lube Banca Marche Macerata)
    Ivan Zaytsev (M.Roma Volley)
Jiri Kovar (Lube Banca Marche Macerata)
    Gabriele Maruotti (M.Roma Volley)
    Samuele Papi (Copra Elior Piacenza)
    Francesco De Marchi (Fidia Padova)
    Filippo Lanza (Itas Diatec Trentino).

    Liberos:
Andrea Giovi (Energy Resources San Giustino)
    Andrea Bari (Itas Diatec Trentino)
Salvatore Rossini (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza)

    Big mistake for him

The mistake is not his, that's the point. Lube has more money than Trento...

Though I think that Macerata could take all the best OHs and opposites of the world but if they keep Travica they won't go anywhere. In NT he set much more balls to Savani or Lasko, Zaytsev was his last choice... we'll see how things will go this summer.

    That picture kills me :(
Yesterday I noticed that Giani had a terrible face just like Zlatanov in that picture... never seen him like that.

Anyway I'm extremely happy we're finally SAFE, and also Mezzaroma said that we'll have a team next year too, so I'm even happier.

aaaand I read is almost sure that Zaytsev is going to Macerata.
