the stream i'm watching switched to Korea vs Japan match. Anyone else got a link?
Russia is going to start the 2nd set with the backups. Let's see how they will fare. Hope they use this chance well.
Bregoli's reaction when Fersino saved the block rebound that would have landed out
Saw that too! Good thing for the coach, the rally ended in Italy's favor
great footsave by Gattaz and then a powerful kill by Garay!
Wow, Carol Gattaz is starting for Brazil!
Goncharova was so happy with that ace that end the match! First time seeing her celebrate like that!
Congrats, Russia! Great win! Voronkova was solid both in attack and reception. It's also great that Goncharova showed up when Belgium was starting to block Voronkova. Arina entered the game well and I wished that she was given a full game to play but regardless, she's proving that she's currently one of Russia's best OHs. Herbots was unstoppable for the most of the match but I think towards the end, Russia have adjusted to her. Despite trailing 2 sets down, Russian girls showed their quality when it matters and that they have staying power. Not bad for a team that's "No longer in Top 4 in Europe" or worse, should be demoted to playing in European League.
Russia's block!
Oh ok! My question wasnt intended to know who is the most balanced (attack-reception), cuz I personally think Parubets is the best if we merge both skills. I thought there was another OH who is solely good/excellent in reception. A player like Makhno in WCH 2010.
I'm choosing from the ones selected for NT.
A question for the ones who follow Russian League: who is the OH with best reception? I mean, a player who could be a reception specialist who comes in the tight moments.
Probably Parubets if she'll recover in time for OG?
Belgium has been insisting on the Slide attack for quite a few times now and it's not working.
Herbots is determined to end this in straight sets!
Arina is justifying her court presence right now!
Link for Rus vs Bel match ?!
Russia’s level right now should be delegated to European Golden League or something.
Isn't that a bit too early too say? It's just day 2 of the Competition. A lot of things can happen in the next few weeks.
I will remember this as the first time I've seen Goncharova playing with a bun instead of a ponytail
Btw, great Herbots for Belgium in the first set and very nice performance in defence!
The first time I saw her in a bun was in Montreux 2010. I think that was her first year in NT.
Why is Russia playing their strongest squad against Belgium?!
Looks like Fedorovtseva is gonna see some court time today. He must have heard you!
and she scored the first point for Set 2!
Why is Russia playing their strongest squad against Belgium?!
I think I've read somewhere that Russia is really intent on earning a medal here hence, the strongest lineup. It's just the second game so maybe we can see the other players in the next days.
Congrats to Russia. I hope Busato rests the veterans in the next match.. I want to see Fedorovtseva and Smirnova play
I agree. Goncharova is in good shape but I hope she won't get overused in this tournament. We don't want to see her ran out of gas in Tokyo.
Russia wins in straight sets. Congrats! Great start from them.
