Watching some replays of USA games with Brazilian Commentary. I thought the "Chicleteiras" word was only used by the Brazilian fans until I heard the commentator mention it a couple of times and even sang it in jest. Hilarious.

Lots of surprises in this edition of WCH but in the end, the favorites made it to the final 4. Serbia today experienced danger for the first time in the tournament after breezing through their past matches. This should help them to be in their fighting mode in their game against USA. USA I think is the weakest of the last 4 teams. Brazil has never won against USA in the last years but if these two meet again, I see Brazil winning this time. Although Brazil beat Italy last time, I expect Italy to take revenge for that loss. It depends largely, of course, on Egonu entering beast mode. She has been quite inconsistent so far...

The last two matches were thrilling! Unfortunately, somebody has to go home without a medal. My heart goes out for Poland and Japan. I hope this loss won't dishearten them. They may have lost but they did really well. I hope Poland continues with Lavarini.

I was originally drawn to Poland-Serbia match but this game between Japan and Brazil is miles better in quality. Lots of excellent defenses and long rallies and Brazil winning by small margin. Too bad for Japan it had to end with an error by Ishikawa. Regardless, this is a match worthy of a final!

Shame that one fo Brazil and Japan has to be eliminated... This is volleyball at its best. Everyone agrees on making this count as the final, right?

This is 3rd game that Lozo is resting due to some minor injury. It is said that she was able to play on all 3 matches, but it was decided not to risk making it worse and to rest her. Prior to that, she was clearly a starter over Brankica.
I think the same. Specially after Lozo's breakout performance in VNL. So it was an injury that was keeping her at the bench. Still, Mihajlovic is performing quite surprisingly well in her absence. I have written off Brankica last year but this year, she's proving that she still has it.
