No, Torino was selected for the final six and semi-finals and final regardless of who reached that stage. I don't think that they would have modified ticket sales or match times to fit Bulgarian team as such as all of this was predetermined before the tournament began.

I like Parodi more than Vettori but I guess both would have been just a tad bit better than Nelli. I also questioned the absence of Antonov and was told he was not chosen based on some technical issues! I think Blengini is quite predictable and made the team look predictable too. I would have thought Gianni or Bernardi would be better choices even beating Brazil in the gold medal match in Rio. I just don't have a good feeling about the match with Poland!

Honestly, this. Now let's wait, maybe they won't have one of their usual mental implosions and lose 3:0 to Poland. For what I'm concerned, if they play like this then nobody will stop them all the way to the gold medal.
As for Italy... Let's say I'm not exactly in a hurry to see them lose 3:0 to Brazil once again and over and over. Our ambitions have been enormously reduced though. A bronze would be a success as of now.

Then it's true that a very good team is able to to his best in the most crucial moments, more than in less influent moments.
The sorting were held live with Boricic (I think...?) there and a Brazilian sorting out the teams.
Having said so, the most important sort (the one for the pools) was made by an Italian and AFTER knowing the teams, so theoretically it's possible.
About the calendar, I think it was scheduled from the beginning that the E/F team was going to play the first and third match in the final6, but may be I'm wrong.
