Russia blowing a key lead once again. Why? Cuz of poor reception
I'd be super mad if Busato doesnt open the eyes and notice a backrow specialist is a MUST!
Sorry for being so repetitive.

Koroleva turned into a scoring machine fron the second half of this set
-
I hope Busato notices he MUST bring a backrow specialist to Tokyo. Any of the OHs in this VNL has the level to stabilize the pass in the clutch moments of a match. Malova is an upgrade, but I do think Russia still needs another player who can share these duties with the libero.
In the match against China and also today, Russia loses the lead cuz of the poor reception. They cant affor losing 3-4 points lead against teams like CHN and USA in the Olympics.
Maybe it is time to call back Frolova? Or bring a libero as fourh OH.

Fearless Arina!
-
Once again, Russia arrives to the point 14 with 4 or 3 point lead margin, but then starst to collapse
Same plot against China
-
Koroleva has been defending pretty well lately.
-
I know South Korea has been a big failure in this VNL, expected cuz of the absence of the twins. Nevertheless, I do hope Guidetti and team TUR doesnt understimate KYK and co.
Today they lost 3-0 against Brazil best available line up (except Bia) in this VNL, but they gave me a much better impression than in their previous matches. They did challenged Brazil in the last two sets and the Asians basically lost cuz in front of them is Brazil. The amount of silly mistakes lowered a lot in comparison of the first weekends.
In conclusion, I think that an "over confident" spirit from Turkey, thinking they are already qualified before the match started + SK displaying the same good game of today = could be a possible receipt for a mess.
-
Well, if Turkey closes this match and gets 3 points and tomorrow gets another 3 points against South Korea (very likely) they could afford a defeat against Brazil in the last match. Even if China sweep off USA and Poland in the next two days, the number of wins are in favour of Turkey,
-
This is the real difference between TUR and this mixed NED team. Hope Turkey can close it in 3, there is no need to extend this match.
With a victory here, do they secure a spot in the SF? Or still have to wait for other scores?
-
Turkey is struggling more than what I expected against this NED team. Their defense has been pretty slow in this set, as well as their service isnt so aggresive as some matches before.
-
Yes she is out.
Thanks for the answer! What a pity. I do think that with her, Serbia could climb some positions in the rankings. Hope she recovers soon and continue in the race for the Tokyo ticket.
-
For the Serbian users: Does Lazovic is out for the last two remaining matches? Or could she play against DOM and Germany?
-
Im wondering if Karch will send once again his best line up, the Olympic one, against Poland today. There is no need at all.

This fish is already fried. It was good while it lasted
Btw, I remember there was a not so tall Russian MB who had a good performance in her league. She was one of the few Russian MB with a good a slide attack. Hasnt she even be called?
The other MBs in the bench dont add anything.

Another mega rally which has written the name of Malova all over it! Defending two spikes from Zhu and one of LYY!
-
What I also like about Malova is that she gives so much confidence to her teammates in the backrow and during the transitions. Voronkova and Arina look more relaxed cuz they know there is Malova who covers them, as well as during the long rallies, they know Malova is going for the tips or even, when Startseva is far, she goes for setting the second ball. In conclusion, she organises Russia Nt defense.
That's a huge upgrade for a team like Russia. With Pilipenko or other libero, they were literally a mess in the backrow: not defending easy balls, miscommunication, letting tips down, etc.
But even with this, the main Russian weakness is well known: reception. I do think Busato should bring a reception specialist for Tokyo.
Another thing: MB arent so dominant. At least in block, cuz we already know that in attack
A slider would be such a boost! Like Morozova was.
-
Malova! Malova! How much have we missed you? She is everywhere!
This mega rally belongs to her

Oh God I forgot. What team will they face next?
NED and TUR
