Camilla Adão (Praia Clube last season) and Flavinha (Rio do Sul last season) are Brasilia's setters for 13/14. Thanks god that they didn't wanted to close with Serena or even Radecka (it would be a really waste of money in my opinion).

Brasilia already signed with Érika, Paula Pequeno, Elisângela, Marina Daloca, Viviane, Verê and Ju Maranhão.

Stats of the final match: http://www.kazan2013.com/hide/…Info/ResultList/VOW400101

Obmochaeva 31 points, 27/58 in attack. But the rest of the team...Chaplina 11/35, Pasynkova 8/35. Borodakova attacked 8 balls, Zaryazhko 3, Shlyakhovaya 5. That makes 16 attacks from the MBs of 158 from the whole team. In other words, 90% of Russia's attacks were made by OH/OPP players :white:
I don't know Brazil so well, but as far as I know Farinea and M.Silva are their MBs. Together they attack 35 balls, so Brazil did more than twice as many quick attacks than Russia. Sure, Russia won the match, but still I think is not the right way they're heading.

Yeah, Mayhara #2, Carol #7 and Natasha #11 are our middles in the tournament.

I really wonder what Pankova said to the Brazilians during handshake that made them stare at her like that, I almost expected a Brazil-Cuba style fight

What a shame to Pankova... She's not even a high level player to say something to the brazilians... But anyway, she have to celebrate this title against Brazil, because it will be the only one this year! Go Brazil!!!

I had to leave in the middle of 1st set and returned in the middle of 4th and I'm really surprised by Brazil taking this to 5th set. They must be playing a lot better than they did in their semifinal. On the other hand, Russia...they looked so good in Montreux, but the addition of Obmochaeva and Borodakova completely changed their way of playing. Middles get no sets ever and Obmochaeva 80% of them all. Sure, she is Russia's best attacker, but Pankova showed in Montreux that she's capable of running a much better offense and I want to see her doing that again!!!

Totally agree with you! Goncha is a reference, but Pankova can't give only balls to her.
About Borodokova... She's terrible and she showed this during all the Universíade. I do think that Shlyakovaya, Dianskaya and Zaryazhko are the best options in the middle of Russian NT.

I think it was a great chance to Dutch NT to play against Brazil. They have a really young and promissing team and years by years they will get better with more international experiences. Today the team played badly, but we have to consider that Brazil did a very consistent match on service, and then this game was easier than the others. I do believe in Dutch NT this year and I think that they can fight for each point in every game, and if Flier get better, of course that they can win and compete for titles in 2013 ;) For WGP, I think that Guido should work with Stoltenborg, Flier, Grothues, Buijs, Steenbergen, De Kruijf and Schoot as starting players, keeping Pietersen, Plak, Sletjes, Dijkema and Belien as options.

And I was thinking where is Angelique Vergeer... Is she injured or out of Guido's plans? In the last 2 years she was considered one very good option for the future. ?(

Gabi joined the adult Nt in Maceió, from the friendly matches against The Netherlands.

Really good news. Gabi is a very promissing player. She can grow a lot with Ze, in NT, and Bernardinho, in Rio.

About the friendly matches against Netherlands, I'm kind of curious... Sheilla said that she's not jumping yet (the same for Fabi, Thaisa and Fabiana), so, I think that we will have a young team on court. :dance6:

I don't think both Radecka and Serena are as bad as you're saying  Radecka used to be a very good setter when she was new in the NT. She had great chemistry with MBs and passed great balls to all of her teammates, however her level got down a lot all of a sudden..maybe due to injury or personal problems? I remember her amazing set to Gajgal against Korea or Peru (I don't really remember) on WCH 2010. the reception came insanely bad but she made a perfect set with her technical skill ;) nobody expected the ball to go to Gajgal. I watched some matches of Azerail last season and I think she was so ordinary...just boring and predictable sets, I would say.

Serena, I don't know. But one thing for sure, she's not a terrible setter...at least from what I've seen from her play in Busto, Bergamo and last season in Muszyna. Of course, she's not Fofato nor Lo bianco but is a solid setter I think. Plus, she's a very good blocker.

Serena or Radecka won't have success in Brazil, I can say this. They are too predictable, no fast balls to OH and OPP, a really boring style I think. As you said, Radecka is getting down and down, and we have to analyze the present and not the past (it doesn't matter now if she was a solid setter years and years ago). IMO Serena have the same style of Milena, and I will keep my opinion about this two players.

Letícia Hage (MB) is out of the NT. She lost her space since Fabiana and Thaisa came back. Bia, Jucy, Adenizia, Brait, Fabi, Dani, Fabiola, Claudinha, Sheilla, Tandara, Monique, Michelle, Pri Daroit, Garay and Natalia still with the NT.

Our biggest problem we have good spikers most of them are ready to compete with any team in world but our MBs sucks as always  Some of them are good attacker but lacks block and some of them are just opposite. We really need dominant MBs successful both in attack & block.Barbolini must adapt Kubra Akman and Asli Kalac to senior team as fast as possible.

I totally agree. Last years this was always the main problem, but Eda helped the team with good slide attacks. Do you know if she's coming back this year?

I dont think Zé makes a bad job...I guess the results speak for itself..I just think is a waste not to give younger or not so "important" players a chance to be better ones playing small competitions with Nt, that is all. I think would be good for Brazil and for Brazilian league if more players would have that experience and would not make any difference actually for main Nt aspirations.. ^^

and maybe the only reason US players are in same level it is cause all of them receives chances to play internationally, no? ;)

I don't think so Joana... Klineman was brilliant in Pesaro and she hadn't a lot of chances to play in the NT... She was bench in Pan 2011.

Anyway I think it is too soon to say "Ze won't use younger players in WGP". He can also change the group whom is playing week by week as he did last year when Tandara, Natasha, and other players did it well in Lodz against Italy, Poland and Serbia.

About this comparations with USA NT, I will disagree again. They use younger players because both of them are in the same level (with Richards, Hodge, Klineman, they will have good results anyway, and the same I think for the MB). In Brazil is differente, we don't have a lot of promissing players, As I have said it earlier, I think that some players have no potential to be in the NT in her positions like Monique, Michelle and even Suelen. They help their clubs, but we need to have priorities and invest in Tandy, Natalia, Gabi and others really promissing players that we have now.

In some points I agre... As Joana said, if Ze have called Garay in 2009, she could help in WCH in 2010, but in that time we had Mari, Natália, Sassá, Paula, Jaque and Régis playing better than her, and I don't think that it is necessary to have 6 OH. In 2009, he invested in a lot of young players, like Dani, Ana Tiemi, Fabíola, Natalia, Régis, Joycinha, Adenízia, Thaisa as starting six and Brait. I still believe in Ze Roberto's job, so lets see, right? :super:
