Yes, being tall is really advantageous for Miyashita. Unless, Kano suddenly shows an uber excellent setting skills. 
im happy to see hashimoto,,she played with logan in japan and she was also hired by volero zurich last time,,she's slower but i like her demeanor like takeshita in managing the team

It boils down to "costs." It is not a good investment to "try" young players outside your own country without getting adequate returns.
Also, USA "must" use Grand Prix and other international events to "try" young players. It is because there is no local competitive tournament. Brazil can afford to veer away from this because at anytime of the day, they can always pick from the numerous good players playing in Superliga.
