No. 24 players are on the list. From VNL roster these players are out: Orzyłowska, Siuda, Murek, Pancewicz, Dróźdż and Sieradzka.

    S: Wenerska, Grabka, Makarowska-Kulej, Bińczycka

    OPP: Stysiak, Szczurowska, Rasińska
OH: Lampkowska, Piasecka, Łukasik, Czyrniańska, Damaske, Orzoł, Szlagowska, Ornoch

MB: Koput, Obiała, Jurczyk, Stefanik, Kecher, Moszyńska
    L: Szczygłowska, Łysiak, Łyduch

I mean roster on CEV site…

France has a really good roster with some small gaps but they can mange. Also French players have really great technique and mentality which cannot be said about Bulgaria yet. Their victory over Bulgaria was obvious for me.

I have watched pol-USA and I’m shocked by amount of dig balls by PL, great game.

Now we have USA-Italy in 1/4 and Japan waiting for them in the semi.

Obiała played whole match with Turkiye

And agaist Turkey she was our 3rd scorer after Stysiak and Piasecka, she looks really decent in this game stats. One set against USA put her aside, weird.

Also I understand that she needs some time to reconnect and these games were perfect opportunity to do that.

She’s the 5th blocker of the VNL. I think she’s cemented her spot on the national team. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with Obiała in the final week of the VNL

I'm wondering about Obiała... I don't understand why Stefano gave up on her so quickly. Also hard to say that she disappointed. She started only against USA.

Also, she appeared one time yesterday - Jurczyk was serving 100% on libero, while Obiała came in and gave very difficult service. There was no an attempt to try her more.

Does anyone remember who was on the initial national team roster for this season on the federation's website?

I just noticed that Smarzek/Rasińska and Makarowska are no longer listed (weren't they there before?), while Kowalewska and Nowicka are now included.

Waybackmachine does not show the roster, but I guess it was updated correctly except the setter.

Smarzek asked to be removed from the list and other positions are correct.

I also checked roster at CEV but it is not registered, so interesting would we some updated on setter position.

yeah but how you gonna do that when communicating “highest non-participating country gets promoted to VNL”. They cant say “but not you Russia” and then expect them to play EL… poor opponents, Russia is much better than any of them.

I guess the issue might be that we are almost in the middle of the season and it was obvious for some teams and federations that they will have to fight in EL to qualify to VNL and now these rules would be changed. But this is my guess. We need to wait for the official statement.

I read on polish twitter that Russia lost VNL spot and they have to start from European League level. But exception is if VNL will be extended to 20 teams… and something is going on.

Concepcion had an awful injury and I am glad they haven’t shown the replay. I still cannot stop thinking about it and wish him a speedy recovery.

Even a commentator of VW (Clayton) said during transmission to not show this in closeup and not to watch it to the viewers.

    Poor Javier.

Today at work people were talking about Japanese male teams’s success.

Super happy that volleyball is becoming more popular here recently.

As of now, the problem for me is that Japan is only successful at the beginning of the season. Later on, they fail at the main competition.

But wait. If China finishes at the last place in the preliminary round, wouldn’t be them the team which will be relegated?
I know they are hosting this year’s Finals too, but I thought that it was apart.

In that case, I feel that, unfortunately, Cuba will be the relegated one 🥲 Last year they were in the final8.

I think Chinese Federation was aware of relegation possibility and bought F8 to secure their men’s team place for the next year.

    Stefanik >>> Centka.

After training with NT in 2025 Sonia developed much more than Wera. I want to see more of Sonia this week. I can’t believe I’m writing this.
