EVERYONE!!
even sykora is back for USA!!
They would be super strong this year for sure!Sykora Returns to U.S. Women's National Indoor Volleyball Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 1, 2007) - Two-time Olympian Stacy Sykora (Burleson, blank) has returned to the U.S. Women's National Indoor Volleyball Team after nearly three years away from the team, according to U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach "Jenny" Lang Ping.
"We have been thinking of her return since June 2007, and have been testing our other liberos this summer," Lang Ping said. "We decided to ask her to come to Colorado Springs to train and compete with the other liberos for the upcoming tournaments such as World Cup. She was very successful playing for the U.S. team and is very experienced at the international level, and would love to have her training with the team."
However, Lang Ping cautioned that Sykora will need to earn roster spots for upcoming tournaments just like any of the other liberos currently training with the team.
"She is not an automatic as our libero," Lang Ping said. "She has not been playing with this team or at the international level for the last three years."
Last month, two-time Olympian Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, Utah) rejoined the squad after a similar break from the team after the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
Lang Ping also announced the addition of outside hitter Kristin Richards (Orem, Utah) to the U.S. Women's National Team, along with the recent return of outside hitter Therese Crawford (Kalamazoo, Mich.) back to the gym. She also announced libero Candace Lee (Eugene, Ore.), opposite Charnette Fair (Atlanta, Ga.) and libero Kristen Fenton Michaelis (Marysville, Mich.) have decided to leave the team.

The top teams of each pool can qualify to the next stage right?

Just feel that the turkish players are kinda cocky sometimes
like their attitude towards some other teams -

GOOD NEWS!!
Logan Tom is coming back to play for the US!!From USA Volleyball:
Logan Tom Training with U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 14, 2007) - Outside hitter Logan Tom (Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah; Resides: Long Beach, Calif.), a two-time Olympian in indoor volleyball for the U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team, began training with the squad on Sept. 10 after nearly three years away from the program.
In addition, Tom was granted an exemption to replace an injured Kim Glass (Lancaster, Pa.) on the preliminary 18-player Team USA 2007 NORCECA Continental Championship roster that was submitted earlier this summer.
"Logan's addition to the team is very good news," U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach 'Jenny' Lang Ping said. "She has quality international tournament experience that will be beneficial to the team."

Very interesting topic!
Chinese Team is not sponsored by a tissue company but a cooking oil company.
I think Cuba jerseys are cheap in quality. The color fades when the jersey is wet.oh..so the chinese changed their sponsor?
because when I watch them, they were sponsored by a tissue company -
Where is Dumler going?
can't find her name in the list -
-
But on the CEV website, it only says that Germany is sure of qualify
it didn't say Turkey is sure in....
quite confusing...
so is more like Russia, Italy Serbia and Turkey would still have a chance -
China= Sun Yue, He Qi Li Yan
I think more from USA and Cuba...since they sent alot of players to Italy before -
Not just China hates Brazil
Cuba and Italy dislike them as well
cuba has a long history and Italy...
it happen when Bonitta was still the coach of Italy and with Gumeruls (sry, don't remember how to spell his name)
both of them are those very 'noisy' coach at the side...kinda like to scream at each other etc -
-
Hope Lang Ping would ask her to come back to the USA NT to play
she is the best libero I ever seen
willing to fly to everywhere to save the spikes -
I am interested in Japan, Cuba, USA, Germany and the Chinese one used in olympics

Quote from "samba player"
We also have collective nicknames for teams. Well, they aren't real nicknames, but names used in volleyball articles and reviews of matches to not repeat the name of the country every time and to make it more funny.
Examples
Brazil = le carioca, le verdeoro (green-gold)
Cuba = le caraibiche (carebeans)
Russia = le sovietiche (soviets)
China, Japan, every other Asian team = le orientali (easterners)
Japan = le nipponiche
Netherlands = le tulipane (tulips), le orange
Serbia, Turkey = le balcaniche (balcanics)
Germany = le teutonicheWe have different nicknames here in Hong Kong for the teams..some due to their volleyball skills and some for colours and culture etc
Brazil = the Samba (because the dance came from there)
Cuba = Black rubber (their shocking jumping height)
Russia = Moscow Red Square (their tall attacks and block and Red is from the soviets time)
Japan = Witches of the Orient (their speed in the 60's and 70's)
Netherlands = orange army (shirt colour) -
Maybe because of religion?
this has been happening in Serbia for a long time already...
between muslims and christians
correct me if I am wrong
or maybe because they are around the same area and competition is fierce in Europe
