I don't think Barbolini is an idiot or a terrible coach, the success he has had proves he is not IMO. He is a man who has no idea how to make this Eczacibasi team beat Vakifbank. He may well go on to have more great success with other teams but he was clearly the wrong man for the job here. I have to add, he wasn't helped by the dreadful transfer policy also

Someone said Ognjenovic has another year as well and that Thaisa might leave unless they make the CL. I think they should have no more than 4 foreigners and sign a good local MB and receiving OH. The problem with Kosheleva against Vakifbank is that she has to have the balls so high and this gives Vakif time to organise their block and their block is so good that Kosheleva can't pass it. To beat Vakif they need good reception too

That is not just this game, that has been each of the last 4 or 5 games against Vakif. Clearly he has no idea how to beat this team and just sends his players out and says "good luck girls, we're gonna need it."

It's painful to see a team with so many great players who are mentally beaten before they even step on court. Against any other team they can play okay, but not against Vakifbank. Now ECZ have to win 4 sets consecutively and there is 0% chance of that happening

Natalia was OK, but not great. She was second top scorer of the match with 12 and she received very well also.

Nootsara is one of my favourite players so I may be biased, but I think she has been very good for Fener. She sets nicely to everyone and her digging is very good as well for a setter. Earlier in the season some people were saying she was not doing too well, but she was worth the money IMO and I think they should try to keep her for next season

I don't know what's going on but there was a sound bomb that went off just before they stopped. Clearly the fans are causing trouble of some kind

Fabris would be great for GS. They have some great defence and serving with a really good setter. What they need most is someone who can reliably kill balls and Fabris has shown that that can be her

I agree with you on the Fenerbahce v Galatasaray game but honestly no setter in the world could help ECZ IMO. It's hard to use your MBs when you have to sprint for almost every ball

Well Gala generally served very well at Vakif so they had to rely on Zhu killing many high balls against a double block as that was the only way they could score. Also Rasic was injured for those games and the Vakif blockers couldn't stop the fast plays that Gala were using very well.

No real surprise about ECZ though as they have struggled all season long and lost a few matches to the weaker teams in TL. Still, they actually were playing well VS Fener as they won the 1st leg 3-0 and won the 1st set of the 2nd leg as well. Sadly from there they started making more and more stupid mistakes and blew a 14-10 lead in the golden set because of Eda's inspired blocking.

Ever since ECZ lost that 2-0 20-10 lead against Vakifbank they have been pathetic against them. They played such a good match at the CWCH but now they just can't do anything about them.

What does Larson even do anymore? She can't kill a ball and all her receptions go to the 3m line at best
