I think Biryukova and Ilchenko are big names in the Russian team.
Both have great potential in reception and that's what Russia needs. Great spikers they always had. But now they are worried about finding a substituita to Sokolova. And Ilchenko and Biryukova are the only candidates for this job, for being young. Kutyukova is very good, but it will already be 27, will not live long in the national team. Russia had great players because they started young on the team, I hope to do the same with Ilchenko and Biryukova.

Reception perfect, and atacker very strong. 20 years only.
The Coach of Russia Pankov declared the names of some players who will join the national team B, as Kurilo, Ilchenko, Nikolaeva ... and I have seen the game of them all. At least so far, none has proved so important when Ilchenko. I even think that if she played today at Dinamo Kazan instead of Nikolaeva, the attack and serve reception would be much better and win the Vakifbank.

BTW, Sokolova's decision let me wondering about Gamova. Will she be part of the NT this year, or will she follow Lyuba, and preserve herself to join the team only in the olympics?
I really like the way they play Ilchenko.
As Sokolova became a world-class player, this happened because from an early age she began to play as a starter in the first team of Russia. With 21 years it already owned and make of serve reception. And with its 25, 26 reached its top in the 2006 World Championship.
I wish the same to happen with Ilchenko, the team A, playing early, because it has only 20 years, and that in their 25, 26, became a reference player in attack, defense, and reception, as Sokolova.

Now lets wonder about the likely compositon of the A team in the OH position this season. Kosheleva, Kutiukova and Pasynkova are certainly in. The doubt is about the fourth spot.
Personaly, I'd take Bavykina. She's performing surprisingly good, specialy in the big games. Against Omichka, for instance, she delivered what I believe to be the best individual performance of the season so far. She's still not there in the reception, but she's improving, and her attack and block are superb.
There's also a chance for Kurilo, but she seems more likely to join the B team, as Pankov recently announced her as part of the 3 OH's to take place in the Russian B team. The other 2 are Ilchenko and Nikolaeva.

Yuan Xin-yue
Young middle blocker and has sum many points in their matches.
She has a very effective attack, a very good lock too, and a hard serve to make the reception. If I remember correctly it does not have 17 or 18 only, is younger than Ting Zhu, and has 1.99 high.

Kseniia Ilchenko is a new star. She needs to substitute Sokolova in the NT. Atacker, very good receiver, defende, block... and she is young!
Now, she is de 2nd best scorer, 5th best atacker, and reception is perfect.

of Russia is very bad. You need to play like the rest of the world
