Bongaerts is certainly the better player compared to Dowd. But Lindsay Dowd got almost no playing time during the last 1 1/2 years behind Stoltenborg and Bongaerts. Considering this fact her performance against Münster, Berlin and Wiesbaden has to be highly appreciated. I do not think that the difference between Bongaerts and Dowd was decisive. Many other players of the LiB were not in their best shape against Wiesbaden.
Despite the very good performance of Dowd: some more playing time during the last months might have been better!

Oude Luttikhuis: giving away the 4th place and the advantages for the playoffs in this way is really crazy !

Oude Luttikhuis in 5th set 4 reception-errors in a row.. She is the key-person for Aachen, also in play-offs. If she plays decent, Aachen (with Bongaerts, hopefully) can beat Wiesbaden. Again a very very black day for Nicole Oude Luttikhuis. Is it really helpful for such a young player to stay on court even on such a day?
IMHO Mrs. van Hintum is the only person fully responsible for the defeat. She replaced Oude Luttikhuis two times but by far too late. If she does not trust in the skills of Karolina Pisla, why doesn't she try one of the Opposites to play Outside/Reception. I do not have the impression, that Frauke Neuhaus and Jelena Sunjic are totally unable to receive.

Last question: Why should Wiesbaden not continue in picking at Nicole Oude Luttikhuis in reception?
They would have to be stupid ...

I do not understand the statement of Matthias as a praise for Nicole Oude Luttikhuis.

As far as I know Nicole Oude Luttikhuis used to play as MB until she changed the position at the request of the former national coach from the netherlands (before going to Aachen). May be she would be better at her previous position?

You can easily see, that Aachen and Suhl can't proceed with this kind of contract policy, as minimum numbers of domestic players will be given in future. Even Stuttgart is not capable of doing so, because if 2 were prescribed the 2 Germans would have to be on court all the time and couldn't be replaced. Rather comfortable would be only Wiesbaden and Münster, no reasonable change could bring number of them below 2 at any time. A good constellation could be seen also in Schwerin and Potsdam now. For all others it would be possible, but sometime tricky. But this is regularly done as limit in many leagues and is no black art.

A in-total consideration of this regulation can be done only in future of course (i.e. when all rosters completed and the rules are known).

Is there no difference between EU-players and Not-EU-Players? Is it - according to the EU-rules - really possible to limit the number of players coming not from Germany, but from other EU-countries?

Maybe a medium solution could be acceptable like this: playoffs with only 4 teams, for the 3rd and 4th place, teams have to qualify in pre-playoffs, the 3rd to 6th are competitors in the pre-playoffs ?
On the top of the league, you would have the fight for direct qualification and in the middle area there would be the fight for the pre-playoffs.

Concerning Aachen: The problem is not any single player. The mix of players does not work. It lacks fighting spirit, will to win and leadership. A bunch of talents obviously does not always make a good team. So it will be necessary to build a renewed team for next season.

Very weak match with Potsdam playing bad and Aachen playing very much worse. Aachen completely insufficient in serving, receiving, defense, blocking, setting, attacking ...
Seems Aachen especially needs an experienced player not only to bring order into their game but also to give a kick in the a.. of some colleagues on the field if necessary.

About Aachen: both Daalderop and Oude Luttikhuis were a disaster in receiving....and the setter, Kimmy Whitson, didn't manage to set one decent single ball backwards...

Compared to previous season, Aachen has become much more powerful in block and attack...while receiving and setter is much worse...

I am no expert but cannot agree:
Daalderop and Oude Luttikhuis are very very young. They really have to get much better in reception, but I think you should give them some time.

May be but during the 2015-16 season Britt Bongaerts did not manage it to use the attacking skills of her middles nearly over the whole season. Even after Weihenmayer having left the team and leaving a big gap at the left side, Bongaerts did not get the idea to use the attack power players like Svobodnikova and Kosova had already shown the season before! I think, Whitson is at least as good as Bongaerts or even better!

Zoe Liedtke is not member of the LiB-Team 2016-17 (source: http://www.ladies-in-black.de). She will play for the second team of PTSV Aachen (source: https://www.facebook.com/Alema…Ii/posts/1310813862303123).

What about Christina Speer playing MB for Thüringen/Suhl for some years? Last year she was missing because of disease as far as I know. Does anybody know if she will return to Suhl?

The last message on the facebook account of the LiB (somebody asks: We are going to play with only 4 players?) does not look like they were going to sign a player in a short time. May be the message concerning Tessa Polder was too early?

That*s exactly, what the Ladies in Black Aachen did not do! Some other teams acted this way. The Ladies did not give up the "Ladies in Black Spielbetriebs GmbH" but they try to save this GmbH in the insolvency proceedings.
