No MVP this year? I was hoping for Clevenot.

If women's QF's are half as exiting as men's I'm happy alread
I can confirm they'll both have 4 teams exiting.

My partner just asked me why that “hot gay coach” is in Italy, didn’t he coach Serbia lol

I’m glad this OG is over, hope I can fix my biological clock ASAP

congratz USA, very happy for the girls
but the quality of this Olympics is so low, 0 epic match.
-
Brazil's coach is too adamant with their starter Setter, same problem with Langping this year, should sub out Macris with Roberta
-
NBC commentator says USA won all other majors, including world cup, which is false.

The challenge system's view angle to show whether the opponents' block touched the ball is so terrible, it needs to show from the middle like net touch, not from one side. They did it better in Rio.

but China weren't disqualified from Tokyo though.
why would the whole team be disqualified from playing in Tokyo 2020(2021) for an individual player tested positive in 2018? She wasn't even in the national team after the Rio Olympics because of her injury.
-
So China got to keep their gold and not DQed?
That was after the Olympics, not before, not during.
-
I think the China opp Yang Fangxu had a positive dope test sometime during our just after Rio... But it was somehow covered up for a couple of years. Not sure if she got to keep her gold medal... But she's definitely "retired" from volleyball.
That was after Rio, 2018.
-
could you really say they "dominated" though?
Yes, on paper, I agree, but
- they barely got into the final 4 in 2014 (thank you brazil for not throwing the match against DR)
- had to rely on other people beating USA (and each other) to win 2015
- literally played three good matches in 2016.
even going into Rio most people thought it was be Brazil/USA.
Final result is everything
-
Because they didn't play any of these tournaments with their A-team except for maybe 1 whole VNL tournament
And yes I'm gonna bring up ECH, because it's a though competition and they won it twice pretty clearly!
Well, that brings up the question, how can you dominate the competitions if you didn't play the competitions or lose them with your B team?
-
I agree. Serbia did not dominate this Olympic cycle. It was China.
Bronze medal in WCH 2018
Gold medal in World Cup 2019
Gold medal in World Grand Championship Cup
If we are talking about Olympic cycle, it matters the most the intercontinental tournaments.
Last cycle was China, silver Wch, gold World cup, gold Olympics.
This cycle, with the result of this Olympics, we can say no one dominates this cycle.
-
careful, people are gonna bring up ECh again.
My bad, maybe I should've said intercontinental competitions
-
Congrats USA by claiming a spot in the Final! Great team performance by them Also I just wanted to say I always believed in Wong-Orantes
Sorry for Ognjenovic to miss out on the Olympic gold medal... Also on her birthday Serbia dominated the whole Olympic cycle, but the postponement of the Olympicsreally didn't work their favor Loss of Michajlovic and Veljkovic was too big, because it left Boskovic as only relaiable scorer. Hope they will take the bronze medal at least!
Serbia did not dominate this Olympic cycle.
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITONS:
Serbia: World championship
China: World cup, world grand championship cup
USA: 3 VNLs
Brazil: 1 world grand prix

She can still blame a Russia male NT member (justice for kicking out Brazil lol)
Blaming one of them can't get them disqualified, so why not blame multiple of them, what the hell, why not all of them?

Some athlete win doping cases citing bodily fluids from boyfriends, for example: saliva exchange, sexual intercourse, use your imagination...
She can explore that angle
