I think Li Yingying will make the WCH roster because no one else is better than her to replace Hui Ruoqi. So it is likely Zhu, Zhang, Liu X, and Li as the 4 OHs spots. Whether Li will start will depend on her performance. Lang Ping does not take seniority over skills so Li will replace Zhang if she proves herself. Then Zhang can play as OP because Gong has regressed and Zeng's age could be a problem for a long tournament such as the WCH. Just wishful thinking of course.

Someone else stepped up for Tianjin to force a decisive 7th game. I think Shanghai coach screwed up this time. Stamina might be a problem for the older Shanghai team but we will see. Hope its another 5th setter for the fans to watch.

Where is Mao Junyi? Thanks.

Forgot about Yang Hao. 183cm but can jump very high with a very good jump serve. Very good model for Wu Han and other shorter OHs.

Speaking of Wu Han, she is a work in progress. Still needs a lot of work on reception from what I have seen during her stint playing for China U teams. Even if she cannot become an effective scorer, she still can become a defensive OH that China needs. China has more than enough scorers already. Just need another consistent scorer like Zhu Ting. Maybe Li Yingying can fill that gap.

Although I wanted Tianjin to win this season, it looks like Shanghai will take the crown. There's not enough help from other players on Tianjin's side. Their youth and lack of experience on their roster shows. I will have to admit that even though the Shanghai team is old, they have a lot experience and were able to keep up with Jiangsu and Tianjin. This young Tianjin team overcame some problems and made it this far without any foreign players on their roster. Kim Yeon-Koung was an amazing player in Fenerbahce and still is amazing player in Shanghai. She was definitely the star for Shanghai this season.
The most important outcome for Tianjin this season was the breakout of a new star in Li Yingying and also with 5 of them making the national team training (Li Yingying, Yao Di, Wang Yuanyuan, Chen Xintong, and Meng Dou). They have a bright future in the coming years. I expect them to be back even stronger and hopefully take 1st place next year.
Tianjin is a traditional powerhouse in the Chinese league so there is no worry for their future. My only concern is the health of players. Just hope they don't overwork Li Yingying and other potential NT members.

Looks like Lang Ping wants to get a 190cm+ team if possible, excluding libero. So shorter OHs will have a harder time making the A team unless they are standouts.
-
Looks like Shanghai will wrap it up. Li Yingying is showing signs of fatigue and Tianjin does not have any other scorers besides her and Liu Xiaotong. Both of them will need to have big games to beat Shanghai.
-
Bad luck for Gala with the refs decisions but it was expected. Home court has the refs advantage without challenges left. At least Gala showed they can still beat a top team without injured key players. There is still Champions league left and a spot for next year as well. Good luck with that.

Heard Qian Jingwen, Wu Han, Zhu Yuezhou, and Jin Ye have returned to their respective teams. Is it true?

i dont know how strong Chinese league is but talking with the stats, seems Li Ying Ying will be soon a sensational player in the World ? do you agree with me ?
such stats at such a young age, bravo!
what about her defence, block and rate of error ,percent of attack ?IMO, one thing I am concerned about is her vertical. She is not a high jumper so not sure how well she hits against top blockers of the world. She is not ranked in top 20 in blocks, most likely due to her jumping ability. Also she plays as a non receiving OH so not sure how she will fit into Lang Ping's system as everyone receives. Everything else is excellent for a young player. She leads the league in scoring, total aces, #5 in total digs, with 48% hitting and 35% efficiency.
But my most concern is her club overusing her at such an early age. Tianjin is notorious for over training their players with rigid methods. But they are the most successful club team. Just hope she stays healthy.

It seems no team in the Chinese league can stop Li Yingying. Wonder how well will she do against the world?
-
Is she retired from the NT? I always thought Manabe's beef with certain players prevented Japan from doing better after 2012 Olympics.
-
Is Yukiko Ebata still playing?
-
what about Shangai's chance to be the champion after 17 years ?
Shanghai is the favorite with KYK and former or current veteran CNT players. Tianjin has a relatively young team but can't count them out because they are the most successful Chinese club team.
-
Do clubs disclose their players salaries or these are just estimates?
-
Jiangsu lost their morale after game 2. Finals will be young vs old team again. LYY vs KYK.
-
Winner of Gala/Novara will be in the final unless CSM proves everyone wrong.
-
quarter finals : best of 3
semi finals : best of 3
3-4 places : best of 3
final match : best of 5I like this is better because no need to worry about sets and points tie breaker.

What's the playoff format for this year? Best of 3 or home and away like last year? Thanks.
