Denso should have just moved to Hokkaido. If you're gonna go, go all the way! Koriyama is further north than Kurobe, although not as chilly as Yamagata
All these teams that aren't in the Kobe/Kyoto hub or Tokyo are going to have a harder time grabbing imports
-
Okay ..."Osaka Marvelous" is a mouthful, but the only thing confusing about any of this is: Where is Astemo? or Denso? or PFU for that matter?
I'm going with Yamagata for Prestige. Sorry
I'll probably stick with "JT" and "Hitachi" ... because, fuck it. Maybe "NEC" but I like "Kawasaki". No way I'm calling anybody Astemo
I may go with Koriyama for Denso and "Chicken Vegetable Miso Soup" for PFU
But for sure ... "Shiga" and "Kariya" here we come
-
I’m speechless

This year's Summer League will be the last one SV.League is killing everything. I think it's also going to kill Black Eagle Flag Tournament
China team from Liaoning will play in this Summer League. I think that's the team the old Saitama Coach coaches? Maybe Jaja's Husband is there too? I forget
-
A lot of players are leaving PFU including starters Mikoto Shima, Natsumi Watabiki, Haruka Yamashita and Yumi Hayashi. So that’s why they recruited a lot from HS and Uni this year
Interesting Valdes is absent from that list. Watabiki is the only one who clearly says she is done playing?
They still have a team. I'd go for a setter (Pornpun, Jia?) and a MB for imports -
Who do I BELIEVE in? oof that's deep. None. The only rookie I stan is Angel Cross' Hikari Minami but she's a dud talent wise
She's transfer Hoping from Chiba!

Typical Japan redesign their web site and break all links to everything
Previous year schedules are empty. Might as well publish before it's finished. Some old man probably said it was okay

Thatdao wasn't with Hitachi so they played Rookie OH Mimika Namaizawa at MB. 1/7 in 5 sets
MB Haruka Oyama (maybe Ryu from now on because that's what googs usually translates her name as, and I'm tired of typing her full name; she's not known well enough for just first or last ... hmm maybe not famous enough for a nickname yet. We'll see. Maybe I'll do a poll) 8/18 @44%, 2 Blocks, 1 Ace, 61% reception on 13 touches No back attacks ... her kill rate went down when she started doing garbage collection at OH, but still good
I assume Ryu was used that way not just because she is awesome but because Manami Koyama was so, so badDenso did the start Yuki Noda and lose the first set thing, and then brought on Nakamoto to save the day. I think they did that in every match this tournament. They'll probably start Nakamoto tonight. Bastards. I hope it backfires and their BCS loving butts get creamed
-
I was able to watch it spoiler free this morning because the length of the video didn't give it away. I did see the first two sets last night
I like OK setter Sayaka Seo a lot but she really blundered the end of the match. Feel bad for her
Okayama/Hitachi always delivers. Might be the last Japanese volleyball game we'll ever see now that V.League is doubling down on the BCS bullshit. Kurowashiki may have some fun, and there is always going to be the lovely Summer League -- I hope
I've rooted for Denso all year but I hope Hitachi beats the living BCS crap out of them tonight -
Noway I'm gonna make the 5-setter that starts next at midnight for me. Somebody else is going to have to do the play-by-play
-
I like Rosamaria but I would feel better about this Denso win if she wasn't playing
[edit] oops
So easy to reverse a jinx
-
Manami Koyama is essentially a handicap at this point. Get blocked much?
-
Haruka taking care of OOS balls now. Leave me alone girl. I can't take it
-
Now Haruka is OH front row with Ogawa in the middle
-
JT is using MB Haruka Oyama in the back row for occasional reception I thought that was just a Uni thing. If she back attacks I'll die
-
I like Rosamaria but I would feel better about this Denso win if she wasn't playing

Fair comparison but what I mean when I say she's not ready for anything huge is the mindblowing pressure of the Olympics when she hasn't even started playing with the main team and whoever will be used from here on out will have to be the final members there's no more time for changes unless injuries occur. That didn't work out well for Momii.
Oh yeah, I wouldn't put her on the 2024 Olympic team
I think her strength is seeing the other side of the court so she can give her attackers the fewest # of blockers, but I don't really know anything about judging setters
-
Tsukasa Nakagawa "NEC-kagawa" setter.
I like her but she's not ready for anything huge. I would still take 2021 Momii over her
I call her "Tsu" you folks call her what you want, and I think she is as ready as anyone for anything. She's done nothing but win shit since she was 18. Her problem is her height. She's going to have to get to the level of Takeshita in defense to make up for it. Take a look at her awards and medals:

compared to Momii

Granted Tsu went the Uni route. There's that
