Zhu won't be back next year (according to a reliable source) and I think Guidetti has this idea to replace her with Ebrar...which won't work.

Any normal individual would keep Ebrar at opposite and transfer a world-class OH...

But no, Guidetti transfered Haak and now wants Ebrar to be an OH...

Same thing happened with Hande, Eczacı transfered Boskovic and wanted her to play as OH even if the NT desperately needed an opposite...

Will Guidetti use NT to save Vakıfbank's next season, will Ebrar play as OH in the summer?

I think my stomach wont be able to take that..

Guidetti a lot of times confessed his admiration for Thailand team, said they have the best side-out game in the world...

My guess is Guidetti is trying to improve Turkish offense which was the biggest problem in WCH...

Our OHs are not particularly smart, so coach has to be more creative...

Thailand is the master of combination play, I think Guidetti will try to adapt some of their tactics...

I was right. Vakıf run several combination plays vs Karayolları, where an OH attacked from zone3...

It was pretty clumsy tough Kelsey got blocked at one and got digged in the second...

And Zhu could barely hit the ball...

I have to admit it looks gimmicky for a team like Vakıfbank..

I wonder if they will keep trying or just give up...

Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask, but i'm going to ask anyway.....

2 weeks ago, the Thai head coach was in Turkey and met with Guidetti....anybody know what that was about? Maybe to help the Turkish team or Vakifbank to have better reception techniques and play faster?

Wasn't there a rumor that Hill left Vakif because she no longer wanted to play in Turkey? If that's true, why would she go back?

I was thinking the same thing...

Also, there's an unwritten rule with Vakıfbank, they don't transfer the same player twice. Local or foreign, when you're out, you're out.

Only exception to this rule that I know is Melis Gürkaynak who spent a year with Galatasaray and came back...

She started playing volleyball in the club and very highly regarded in terms of her character, probably that's why she became the captain after Gözde...

Not really...Ebrar will start in play-offs this season...Zhu-Rasic-Kelsey are more valuable than Sloetjes right now.

And she'll spent whole summer with Turkish NT as a starter and improve a lot...

So it's highly likely that she'll be a starter in SL next season...

Does Haak know she'll be sitting on the bench most of the time in SL and esp in play-offs?

Same exact thing happened to Boskovic in her first season with Eczacı...She spent most of the season on the bench..

After this week I might change my mind...

Ebrar seems to be better than expected and Kelsey is playing much better in offence...

And there is still four-month time to the play-offs..

So, a gameplan where Ebrar is optimized(or shall I say minimized), and Kelsey and MBs get more sets might work...

Guidetti must thank Kiraly, since Kelsey seems to be really enjoying herself after a whole NT season playing libero...

On Eczacı side, they once more won a game which basically has no meaning...

Their problem is 2 of their stars Kim(31) and Larson(32) are veterans, and a best of 5 series in the final might be too demanding...

In addition, they have no backup player with an X-factor, Gibbemeyer,Meliha&Güldeniz are defensive players...

They probably will miss Hande a lot.

Guidetti does not like to take risks and lacks in imagination&projection and this may cost him the league title...

No way Vakıf will beat Eczacı without Rasic&Sloetjes...

So, he has to play with Tuğba who can do what Busa did for Serbia...

Reception will suffer, but Sloetjes&Zhu can play out of system and Zhu is a better receiver than Mihajlovic.

So, Tuğba has to play more and against better teams...

Ironically, Robinson looks indispensible right now and I'm sure Guidetti is thinking more about bringing back Naz than injecting Tuğba into the team.

I hope Eczacı smashes Vakıf in week 9 so that Guidetti might see the light...

Of course they will award points for VNL, or else it will lose all its prestige and become a bigger Volley Masters

    FIVB won't want that.

They might give even more points than Grand Prix since the World Cup has become redundant...

Turkey does not want to be saved and Nobody cares about NT and the fanbase...

    It is all about money....

our federation was more interested in finding new sponsors (as if Turkish Airlines wasn't enough) than they were about upcoming WCH...

And certainly our beloved top clubs, they want their European trophies, and get them by paying best players...

I hope Turkish league goes banktrupt like Azerbaycan...

I don't watch basketball so I don't get your analogy. Malinov and Cansu was from the same generation and I have been watching both since they were playing junior NT. Cansu wasn't even starter of our NT whereas Malinov has been great since an early age. On top of her precise setting, she is a good blocker/defender too which is something Cansu severely miss. To me both Danesi and Chirichella are more talented than Zehra.

If you really think Malinov is more talented than Cansu as "pure setter" you should watch basketball more...

similar to TUR in that sense (youngsters with Eda and Simge) but simply their youngsters are way more talented than Turkish ones. In theory, ITA can dominate next 3 Olympic games with the same roster (replacing Lucia with her sister and a new libero). This young team already achieved more than they were expected, so every win from now on will be a huge success. I hope they will play the final against SRB.

    Seriously?

Was Michael Jordan more talented than Larry Bird?

Let's not be coy about the real issue here...

Nobody can match Egonu&Sylla's athleticism, power and explosiveness...

Can you say Malinov more talented than Cansu, or Danesi than Zehra or Sylla than Hande...

Thanks to African immigrants Italians are building a "Cuban" team in the middle of Europe.

    And good for them.

French should take an example, I am sure thay can overmatch Italians easily.

But they don't seem to care about volleyball.

Buket is not qualified to play for Vakıfbank.
We saw in VNL, there's a huge gap between Aslıhan and Cansu&Gamze...
And Aslıhan played last season as a starter for Halkbank, a play-off team in SL.
İmagine the level of Buket, a first division setter, in addition she's very "old-school", her sets are sky high...

This change will have a huge effect on the quality of the trainings, I think this is more important than Cansu not having a reliable backup...

What's going on with Guidetti, you can't grow an opp, two OHs and a setter at the same time...
You need some stability especially in the setter position...

Derya is a 17 year old, 1.85 OH, I think the player She reminds me most is Bricio...Derya is less explosive for now but seems more talented. She can hit at angles only players like Kim can.
And I think her ceiling is higher than Pietrini.
