How come Hisamitsu was able to steal a set from Rexona? Anyway, another great performance from Drussyla. If she continies to develop her skills and be a constant face through these coming years for Brazil NT, she might end up in Tokyo 2020. And Roberta definitely deserves her spot on the NT for this new Olympic cycle.

Yes, she is injured. I don't know when she will be able to play (October/November?)hope she can perform her best back then. if this rumor is true then Praia will have a very strong line-up with her. Garay. Fabiana, Walewska, and Suelen.

The problem with Brazil NT now is that there is no player who can kill high ball in transition. Fe Garay is okay, but she is not good enough to do so. Jaque is no longer in her glory days. Natalia is the best prospect for them right now and only in Turkey where I see her being able to kill high ball when they are out of play.
Brazil needs to find a golden duo of OH -- ala Paula and Mari. They are the best OH duo Brazil has ever had. They are dynamics to hit all angle of the court and they are strong pin hitters and able to kill high ball.
I am very positive that Coach Ze will develop a new strong team with all these talented young players lined up.

since it is going to be "World Club Championship" there should be the best club representing all continents there, regardless of their level or so on -- just like the Olympics. let's say there is 6 best club representing each continent, then FIVB can add 6 more wildcards to the most deserving team.

Out of all the position, the OPP will be the hardest one to fill. How can you go from Marianne Steinbrecher to Sheilla Castro to basically no one? Tandara used to be the best prospect but she is just not enough. During this season of Superliga, Monque is the most dominating local OPP but she is way too short and she is in her 30's now. Helo from Rexona is underperforming and even when she was on court (against Praia Clube) she could't do anything. Ana Paula (Osasco) plays really well that's why I don't understand why she is benched all the time? There is no other dominant OPP in Brazil right now which is the main problem because Brazil's best scorer is usually their OPP.
And please stop bringing Ivna into NT. She is useless. Her time is up.

I think the NT is gonna have problems in every position this new cycle and I'm not sure there are going to be a lot of positive results, but the most important thing is developing the young players we have and see who has the level to be considered for the international tournaments.
I think Roberta and Naiane are the setters we should use until 2020. None of them are at their peak yet and have yet to show more stability in their performances, but that will come with time I hope. As for opposites, the situation is still grim imo: Rosamaria should be converted to OH full-time, Paula Borgo got benched all season and both Lorenne and Edinara are still way too green. Tandara never really showed anything with the NT before, so who knows.
Libero position should be between Léia and Suelen, no question about it. Middles should be Adenízia, Bia, Mara, Juciely and Carol (plus Thaísa when she's ready and if she's still up to it). As for outsite hitters... I don't know. I'd let Natália, Gabi, Rosamaria and Drussyla play as much as possible. Other than those, I can only think of Garay and Jaque, but are they really able to work through another olympic cycle?
None of these players are dominant. Even Natalia and Gabi seems to be underperforming during their stints with NT. I don't think the first 2 years of this new cycle going to be a great year for Brazil Women NT. Hope they will learn as much as thy can and develop confident along the way.
People say that after 2004, most of the players retire and Brazil is out. But Coach Ze silenced everyone when he created the best line-up Brazil NT has ever had (in my opinion) and win almost every major competition there is including Olympic 2008. The problem is that, like I said, back then Walewska, Paula, Sheila, Fabiana, and especially Mari were a bunch of beast -- palying Superliga or foreign leagues like top players. We don't have that during this cycle of Superliga. Tandara is a monster when it comes to killing the balls, but like you said, she is basically non-existent on the NT.
Let's just wait and see of how these new generation can build up momentum. Hopefully they can pull a China story and not the Cuba story.

Roberta from Rexona SESC has shown throughout the season why she deserves the spot on NT this cycle. She has been playing really well and carries her team. And that setter from Brasilia is good, too. Naiane is a little bit inconsistent imo -- she has Jaquer and Destinee Hooker on her team and she can't do anything about them.
Drussyla is a young prospect that needs to be developed. She is a powerful hitter and at the same time she knows how to hit different angles and trick shots every now and then. She makes some silly mistakes but that is because she is still young and needs to improve.
Juciely is still useful regardless of her age. She carries Rexona SESC throughout the season and remember back in the quarter final against China at the Olympic 2016 she was the one who stepped up to the plate.
I hope Carol will improve. She is declining this season. i don't know if dating her team mate is the reason why.I am a little bit worried about these new generation. As promising as they are, none of them truly dominating like Mari, Paula, and Jaque did during their days on the Superliga. Maybe it is because the lack of experience they had on national level, I don't know. Coach Ze needs to start getting these new line up out there and make them compete in national games as much as they could to gain experience and confident.

Well, I am actually okay about this. I like Hooker. She is a true definition of a volleyball player. Her gestures on court towards her opponent makes me respect her. Remember during the final match of the semi she crossed the court and Gabi fell after she stepped on her foot Hooker reach the court and grabbed Gabi's hand. Plus, we need competitive player like her on the league.
I wish Sheila will return to Osasco. She fits the team right. I want her to play with Rexona but the rumor about Rahimova coming is too good to pass.

I would be surprised if Kosheleva doesn't leave to be honest. Having 6 foreigners is too many as the team still struggles for chemistry when there is a different team in TL and CL. Also if they are not in the CL and they probably won't be, there is even less reason to have so many foreigners. Of the 6 foreigners they have currently Kosh has probably been the most disappointing so I expect she will go to Conegliano or somewhere.
Agreed. The all-star team don't work. When you have that many star players, they don't usually play as a team. They will try to one-up each other and think about their own performance.
The #1 transfer for sure should be a local defensive OH, from the other hand if Garay didn't have signed with Praia she probably would fit good on the team.
It is most likely Garay will come to Praia. I miss her in Brazil League. She will bring fire to the team.

But I agre Osasco can hire better alternatives
I just don't understand why they would hire these foreign players that barely do anything in court. When you spent so much money on some particular players, you hope they will be able to perform great. But look at these Serbian ladies, they are performing average. Those money better be spent on some good local players. Rexona made the same mistake with Logan Tom and Anne Buijs.
I hope Sheila will return to Osasco although I think Ana Paula deserves her starting spot next season. Is there a chance that either Pavan or Mijailovic will return to Brazil? Those 2 were amazing back then.

Osasco had less money this year, so signining with tthe Serbian girls was a nice solution. They did a nice job there. It was much better than previous years with Caterina/Sanja or Lise/Carcaces. This time Osasco did a great job during the season, had a perfect semifinals and was better than expected in the final match.
If Tandara really leaves and with Dani and Brait taking a year off, they will surely have money to sign with better foreigners. I would go with an American OH, such as Robinson or Hill and an European opposite. The setter will probably be Macris fom Brasilia.I doubt Hill will come to Brazil as she has been playing in Turkey for a while now. Maybe they can scout some great talent from US varsity like that girl that is currently playing in Italy. They should hire stable receiving OH and a dominant OPP. Ortolani will be a good option.
