IMO, Naz is overrated. she is very unstable. I agree with you on maja, she is the best currently. Ding Xia is a setter with the best spike skill.

I heard USA do that but can't hear well enough to know if Japan shouts "Nippon" or China "Zhōngguó" or whatever. Heck, I don't even know what some of these countries call themselves

I think once China has deprived Japan of a medal they'll bring on the bench. This is CHN v JPN in Japannot like going home early at the WGP. Who knows, maybe this tournament has meaning for them. CHN could even start with some bench but if they aren't winning, they'll change. My guess, anyway.

Why is "OK" for the Italy and for the Serbia to rest their best players (Egonu and Mihajlovic were not playing in their last F6 games), but it's not OK for the Chinese to rest their best players?
Edit: I also want to add that Milena Rasic had just played two first sets and Chririchella Cristina just had played in the last sets as server. They rested their best players even though they (Italy and Serbia) need to fight for the first place in t their groups.
For all these, I ask you again why is OK for the Italy and for the Serbia to rest their best players in their last F6 game, but it's not OK for the Chinese to do the same ?
