It is not that important because it does not give points and I dont get why not, FIVB created this event in order to have a "major" event every year besides the GP and WL. , but teams does take it seriously and always play with their main roster.
But Im surprised to hear that China will play with the main squad because they are playing in the GP FInals, in the past Lang Ping rested starters in the GP to have them ready for OG and WCH.
I bet Brazil will have their main roster as well.And this tournament wont last 1 week...

I used to love Zeng Chunlei ! She was my crush back in 2014 =) I'd be glad to see her again but I doubt she will make it for Tokyo.
I'd be happy also to see Yan Ni and Xu Yunli.. two heroines of Rio =)
Is this a major tournament? I have never heard of it ..

I have heard that her father had a surgery.. maybe could that be the cause...? Hopefully she will play in the finals.. an OH2 is strongly needed!
ZCN is not injured...Maybe she has problems with the Chinese board or the coach...I dont know how the things works in China...

Yuan is really impressive and one of the TOP MB in the world. Silver at the WCH when she was only 17, and Olympic Champion at age 20.
This week against Serbia she was China`s top score with 19 points ( 7 blocks). And also 21 against USA...
and wait?? She`s all that and still only 21?? Vowww..
She has improved MASSIVELY! She may also win MVP prizes over Zhu if she continues improving

I was curious to see how could Li Yingying perform against strong teams..I always expect young players to be as good as Zhu Ting but actually Zhu is one and only -
Lang Ping has always had innate ability to find out and train amagzing players (i.e. Akiradewo for US, was picked at 17!)
Zhu Ting was from a shitty club as well. Actually, her hometown club was so shitty that she was not even in the Chinese NT try out list. Luckily, Lang Ping remembers there is a tall girl in the Henan club and she was "curious" about this tall girl.

Do you know what happened to Li jingjing? I thought she would have been a starter in the prel-phase.. Instead, Li Jing Wang Yunlu proved once again that they are not suited for this level.
And what about Zhang Changning? Has she recovered?
