Usually it is possible to have football and volleyball at the same time in Stuttgart which can be a bit weird when you hear the roar of the stadium in Scharrena. At the moment there is some construction work going on at the stadium to prepare for (football) Euro 2024 so VfB Stuttgart is using Scharrena (as locker rooms and press centre) when they have home games.

Stuttgart has announced that Bitter will be the head coach, Alexandersen says that due to the treatment of his illness he cannot reach the necessary energy level to be head coach.

Alexandersen will stay in Stuttgart ( I assume because of his treatment in Tübingen) and might help the club during the season if his health permits.

If there are really five OHs, I wonder what the plan is. Maybe the idea is that Hart is just learning the position and Vanjak is recoving and there is a risk she might not be able to play, so the other three are the main contenders for the two spots. But that sounds like a waste of money.

Stuttgarter Zeitung (Wednesday's edition) confirms Knollema. Renkema: "She's a very big talent with a strong attack. She can improve her technique, especially in defense and reception. We'll work on that.

Stuttgart will have five outside hitters next season. I haven't seen any rumours about the fifth player. Maybe a young talent?

According to Irion Stuttgart will be free of debt either this summer or next year at the latest. Stuttgart was in debt since the expensive European Cup season 2015/2016 (they had to travel to Baku twice and to Kasan and Krasnodar in Russia), the club then was in debt by 680.000€.

Stuttgart's office staff now consists of three full-time and several part-time employees, they might expand this team.

I see no mention of contract length, so probably one year only.

I wonder who'll end up on the bench. Stuttgart can't possibly transfer a German NT member and then have her on the bench, that would be very bad for the reputation. At the moment my bet would be that Timmerman will be No. 3.

I think almost everyone wants to play for the national team, the problem is that there are no breaks if you play the club season and all international tournaments. That's a lot of games and you get no money for playing in the NT. If you play in Bundesliga your salary is already quite low compared to what you earn outside volleyball.

It makes a difference whether Stuttgart plays at home against Potsdam and Schwerin, or plays away in Potsdam and Schwerin. Just as an example. Applies to other teams as well.

I guess they will either do:

1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 3-1, 4-2, 5-3, 1-4, 2-5, 5-1 (teams play at home against the team directly behind after the main round , away against the team 2 places behind, etc)

or the exact opposite 2-1, 4-1, 1-3 etc.
