An easy win for Novara. They are very competitive this year, either in Italian league or CEV. Besides from Egnou, they have good OHs like Bartsch and Blak. Even veteran Piccinini could help reception sometimes.

Simply put, Wilferdo Leon demonstrated today that he is the best player in the world. Doesn't matter what league he plays in, the man dominates and has the ability to take over a game like no one else!
Leon has the best serve in Men's volley, solid and scary. Remember Leon's Ace nailed the match point in CEV 2018 final.
A lot of his aces hit right on the line. That's not the coincidence.

Based on this performance they can't compete with those teams but don't forget it's only the 2nd game of the season, it's normal to need some time to gel.

When Scandicci got a chance to catch up, they just gave it away with a serve error. Then they end up giving Novara an easy direct kill at the set point. If this is Scandicci's normal performance, I am curious how they could compete with those strong teams in CEV.

Scandicci's reception is awful. They can not block either Egnou or Bartsch.
It seems the 2nd set is a blowout for Novara.

Attacking, blocking, serving...Perugia outplayed Lube in every way. Leon's scary serve is a nightmare for Lube. Even with Lanza's so-so performance, Perugia won the game easily.

There has been so many Cansu fans comparing her with Naz, let's see if she can handle the pressure and showed something special as a starter
By the way, you guys are right that Naz doesn't have a valid contract with Vakıfbank. So it will be interesting to see where she will end up
Cansu needs to improve her setting. She's a young girl and has lots of potentials, but she also lacks experiences.
She's one of the reasons that Turkish NT played poorly in this WCH.
Turkey made the third place in ECH 2017 when NAZ was in charge.

Ngapeth still has time to adapt and improve his game, and what are you talking about Maxim is playing well even in Position 4. But I agree with you Kazan will not be the clear favorite this year with the departure of Leon. And I think there is one more factor, Zenit updgraded their opp position and Grozer is playing like a monster
With Grozer and Camejo's combo, St. Petersburg may challenge Kazan in Russian league this season. The good thing for Kazan is both Maxim and Matt can play either OH or OP, so they can adjust roster if needed.

From today's match, we can see that Gozde was too important for Vakifbank, Kelsey clearly couldn't fill up her spot, at least offensively. And the other 2 OHs are even weaker, this is a huge problem for Vakifbank. With Kelsey playing, Rasic has to be benched(the best blocker in the world sitting on the bench, I'm so mad

Vakif needs a solid OH to support Zhu.
Kelsey, Ebrar or Tugba all have flaws. Kelsey is good at defense and reception, but no offsense. Tugba is weak on both offense and defense. Ebrar has no reception. Her attack is good, but not stable. She made many unforced errors too. It's not an easy season for Vakif.
