Molina is wack.
Baron, Mau, Paat and Alohi doing well for PH. Too much error for the other OH.
-
Wow! I can't believe I got it right
Sincere question: What or how would freeing up 4 change the situation?
I think freeing up the 4 opens up a lot of possible attacking options in that zone (drop, tip, other spiking techniques). It’s so weird since Japan employs this receiving OPP system. Why not allow the opp to be ready for the pipe instead? Or is their opp not a potent attacker? Ishii doesnt pass well enough considering she’s an OH.

I think it is one tournament per year in a four-year cycle, and WGP 2017 is being used for a 2017. After VNL 2021, WGP 2017 it's going to be replaced.
Makes sense. Thanks!
-
It will use WGP 2017 points until end of the world...
for real? Lol

Wait. Where are you getting your schedule from? ... unless my tiny flag recognition is wrong
Isn't it:
3 - 0
3 - 0
I feel like a third-grader. I had to look up the flags

USA's bench is going to beat Japan?
Seems cruel
With how Japan has been playing right now, it looks like USA is just a level above them. 2nd unit can win vs. japan in 3 sets.
Also why doesn’t Ishii do passing duties?
-
Hmm, I'm convinced that USA is saving Carlini for China.
I also think Charles is putting Poulter out there all the way. But let’s see. The obvious move is to put Carlini in the important CHN match but who knows...
-
I think USA will use their bench for USAvJPN then use Ogbogu, Washington, Drews, Krob, Larson, Poulter and Courtney vs. china

Can someone confirm this?
from wiki.....
Four national teams featured in the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix.[2] Indonesia decided not to participate in the Philippine-leg of the tournament with a selection team from the Philippine Super Liga participating instead.[3]
-
Indonesia (excluding Philippine-leg)
-
Philippines
-
Thailand
-
Vietnam
-
PSL All Stars (Philippine-leg only)
This is confirmed. It’s so weird tbh

This is the game I will be waking up very early for.
Excited to see the battle of the middles (+Zhu)
USA beat China VNL Week 4 and iirc at some point China was playing their A except for the libero. Hope USA can continue their vibe rn. They're strongest when Poulter sets the open effortlessly to Krob

I am so confused about VNL. I thought this was supposed to replace GP but how come World Rankings still use GP 2017 instead of VNL 2018 for the OCT 2018 standings?
-
USA vs. China tho
-
Prediction:
1st - Thailand
2nd - Vietnam
3rd - IndonesiaExperience - Philippines lol
PHI NT Management and Staff is very delulu and incompetent right now. Skipping AVC tournaments so that the team won't be scouted for a tournament that does not even have bearing for FIVB standings. Also missing the services of Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat.
-
Dindin Santiago-Manabat (PHI 6'2" MB/OPP) to return to Japan and play for Kurobe Aquafairies (same team of Simone Lee)
She was with Toray last year but played sparingly. Maybe Kurobe can utilize her more.

the team has a huge chance of getting another gold just before Tokyo 2020. I hope they don't botch this World Cup. Among the positions inside the court, I think this team really lacks the strength in the libero position. Courtney has been very underwhelming and needs to take the charge in sweeping better, especially block deflections that fall.
Though Drews is far from her MVP form, I think she can still improve as the tournament goes on. Intimidated by Lowe? Conscious about the Japanese scouts as she's going to play there this season? Hope she finds her bearings fast. USA vs. China will be bloody.

Hello! I'm a volleyball fan from the Philippines. New here.
Well something about my love for volleyball? I play as Outside Hiiter in games. My favorite Philippine player is Jaja Santiago (Ageo Medics/Foton Tornadoes) and my favorite foreign player is Andrea Drews (JT Marvelous/USA).
