I'm going to root for Japan. Their home crowd privilege may help them pull it out from their group. They can get boosted to get a medal.

Matches between France, Brazil, Russia, and USA will all be interesting to watch, plus Argentina vs Brazil.

From group A: Italy vs Poland, Japan vs Iran, Japan vs Poland, Japan vs Italy, Japan vs Canada (let's just say all Japan games and Poland vs Iran will be interesting to watch

And even without Ghafour, Iran qualified to Olympics easily. But for real, isn't there anyone else than their current OPP to come? He would just get blocked and pass the ball like how they do it in women's volleyball. Even Chinese players would play his hands when he was blocking the ball. The worst ever OPP performance I've ever seen in my life.

Things are getting complicated in Pool B. But if France and Bulgaria defeat Netherlands then everything's going to depend on Bulgaria vs Serbia. The winner will advance to elimination round, while France is in a safe place (if they win 3-0, 3-1, that's it)

So... which team do you think can make it to Tokyo from Europe? I can't say it for sure after seeing Slovenia's performance in the recent tournaments, but it's gonna be either France or Serbia, probably...

Can Bulgaria do something in Pool B? I've not been following them recently, but apparently they're not in a good shape.

What about Asia? Which team's going to get the ticket? I mean, it should be between Iran, Australia and China.

I know you mentioned Iran's OPP Ghafour is injured, but is it actually enough to hope for a Australia win? I saw Iran's game in WC with Brazil, and the replacement for him scored a decent number of points and played very well, except struggling in crucial points. But shouldn't he be enough for Asian teams?

If Iran is not in a good shape, then which team would you choose? Australia or China?

Iran is in danger of missing the olympics with Ghafour out until March.

Well, there's the russia DQ possibility so there's still hope for Tokyo if they don't make it out of the Asian Qualification while Australia, China, Qatar or even Sokor all tear it up in January.

Great chance for Australia. Although the event's happening in China, I don't think they can manage to get a ticket there even with host privileges.

However, I doubt whether the absence of one player can bring Iran in danger. They've got so many players to replace with him.

Iran’s 2nd team is beating Brazil’s main squad

They played well, but apparently not enough to defeat Brazil. I think they lacked experience in crucial points, while Brazil did a good performance as a team and made the right decisions during the match.

USA gets the 1st set. Only having Leon in attack line isn't enough to defeat USA. Kurek joined in the final points but didn't get the chance.

Italy's block killed Argentina. Still I'm quite impressed by this young team. They could get the game if they didn't commit that much serve error and mistake.

Russia are doing a lot of mistakes. It's as to be expected since they're too young. AUS might win this.

And what's wrong with Iran? When you expect them to win, they don't. And when you predict them to lose, they actually win.

USA are no longer the same team from 2017. They lost the VNL gold medal to young Russia at home this year, and now struggling a lot in WC. Well, the world cup was never considered to be a standard, but still I expected them to perform better than this. Although they managed to win Italy, Anderson choked a lot in the game.

No upset coming from AUS as Brazil crushed them completely. I think Brazil has seriously come for the gold; only Poland may be able to stop them now. And I'm quite disappointed of AUS.

Poland managed to win JPN in four sets. Imagine Leon joining this team later, we'll see some interesting matches.

A comeback from the Russians turned the game 2-3 against Canada. As I'd said before, even Russia's third squad is enough to beat Canada, Argentina, Iran, and other average teams.

Tunisia lost the match against Argentina as expected, however, on the other side, Egypt somehow managed to defeat Iran. I'm quite excited since now we have a challenging African team. Things will be interesting.
