At least Brazil tried, but with Vargas playing like this it’s really difficult. Ilkin played very well and is worth mentioning as well. Congrats to both teams.

China was so bad today
It kinda surprised me, why is Zhu not playing for NT anymore, I guess LYY is injured, what about Yuan? The team has potential but it just looks incomplete to meZhu had beef with the CVA and some of her NT teammates, it was pretty obvious in her last return to the NT, the atmosphere was so awkward. And with her age and physical conditions, it isn’t realistic to expect her to help much to NT even if those off court factors are cleared.
LYY is a big question mark, her injury was so serious and without proper treatment. I doubt if she could ever regain her pre-injury form (which is very sad but it just always happened to Chinese players, their officials, coaches, team doctors whatsoever never learnt from the past)Wu might be the only one left to be able to help the team after her return from injury, but she never reached the height of Zhu/LYY, and is already injury prone at such young age. I am not that optimistic on her either.

Tbh the match wasn’t exciting at all despite being extended to 5 sets, many errors from both sides. Brazil managed to grab this very rare opportunity that both Egonu & Antropova were in bad form, and AC was the definitely the MVP, the final few points were so clutch! -

not really, Brazil had 7 unforced errors.
It was the reason that they were tied in most of the first set despite Antropova not able to score, but after 20, her service run basically ended Brazil’s chance.
