We all know that VNL is a fancy China's training ground, so China not travelling again was expected... but making the others travel that much is atrocious (but expected as well, because FIVB thinking only about money and not about players and the amount of games they need to play per season, that amount of travelling, is what they do best). Awful

We know what money can do..

If by multiple times you mean twice, then yeah. I think the weather is blowing a little more clearly for Korea these days than it is for Japan, but Korea did lose their only shot at winning the Asian Champs last year to Japan's B-Team on Korea's home court.

It's going to be a good match which ever way it goes

Well, you have to consider how many times they met on Japan's home court in recent years. I'd say 2 is pretty darn good. When South Korea did lose to Japan's B team, that was horrendous, agreed. I think that was a rude awakening for the team for sure.

Japan playing at home is always super dangerous, so I wouldnt pick South Korea above them.

South Korea played against Japan on their home court multiple times with a sold out crowd and South Korea still beat them. This is KYK's last chance and I know she'll give it her all. I still have my faith in the South Korean team. Thanks.

Like you, I'm not impressed with her performance, but I think she's tall enough...isn't she 182 cm?

You're both right. She's "tall enough" based on Korean women team's standards but she just doesn't have the same effect as an LJY to your point. She's experienced at home but not used to much taller players from the international scene. I'd much rather throw in Park Jung Ah, Lee So Young or Han Hye Jin.

Don't get me started on Kim Hee Jin.... Grr... ^^

Sorry, I have to get this off my chest but am I the only one who thinks Pyo Seung Joo is a horrible player? Full transparency, after watching all her plays on the National team, I couldn't help but cringe every attack she's made. She just doesn't have the height, the speed, the brains to be on the National team. So frustrating!

What? Kim Haeran won't be playing at the Olympics anymore? That sucks. She has such great defense.

I am uber sad that she's retiring but happy that she's focusing on her family. She's one of the best liberos out there. Such a shame she didn't get much recognition globally. Korean players need to venture out to foreign teams but they have such a good system to stay at home.
