Milano placed 3rd last season, did they gave up their slot to Piazencia in the Supercopa?

woah, ITA women compensated for the men's loss! Their opposites are terminators!
-
ITA is alive!

did i just saw Kubiak! Looks fresh eh😉and he is cheering for JPN.

Japan will be lucky to even get a set from this Italy.
France got lucky with Germany but hope Germany has the qf match of their lives and wins it.
Hopefully, Slovenia will get revenge for that disastrous VNL bronze medal match.
GER and SLO are both capable for upsets! Would love these 2 in the semis

There's is a *very* small chance to qualify if Japan loses but it ain't gonna happen.
If you're 14-14 equal and a bit later you're 14-21 behind, than that is a coaching mistake. This lose is fully on Koslowski. That Anne Buijs did not see the court today is unforgivable. And don't even get me started about Reesink at the Olympics smh
I cursed a lot today because of Kowloski's inaction.

The bad news is that we truly don't have an alternative to Galassi and Russo, I'm not sold on Sanguinetti at all. God knows how much Anzani would've come in handy...
I wonder why diGiorgi did not consider Mosca.

Grupa Azoty will stop financing ZAKSA after 30rd June. ZAKSA can be the next Chemik.
It seems ZAKSA will have the same fate as Skra.

Uzelac was MVP last night in 1/4 of Brazilian cup match against Osasco (2nd ranked team in Brazilian league)
I don’t have official stats but her passing was phenomenal. In 2nd set especially, she passed over 10 balls and 90% of them were almost perfect, without getting aced even once in 5 sets (as far as I remember).
Serve was constantly putting preasure on enemy reception with more then few negative passes and few overpasses. Most importantly very consistent without many errors, unlike this summer with NT.She could be real deal for Paris, not that I doubted her in any moment but didn’t expect the development to be so rapid. She defenitely proved wrong all the people who doubted the statistic which put her as top 3 OHs in terms of passing % in the league.
If Pusic is back to shape where she can cover big space on reception then we might be able to play Uzelac/Brankica or Uzelac/Lozo in Paris.I think she is paving her way to be definite starter in Paris if she continues like this
I need to find that match in youtube

Tough luck for Monza, Takahashi's 3rd set ankle sprain (hopefully) affected their team play leading to a reverse sweep by Verona
-
Just watched the first match in youtube. It already had 70k views. I hope this league could bring MBH and K. Hill out from retirement.

WE OWN THEM.
What a service run by Kaziyski Great comeback by milano!

ZAKSA!
What a match! Great substitution by Zaksa on the 3rd set.

They quadrupled the pricing so this is expected. I do not understand why did they do that though.
They probably thought that they could earn more. I checked SM tickets, the higher priced seats are still available for July 5 and 6 games, while already sold out for Jul 7 to 9 games. Attendance on the Jpn-chn match yesterday was over 5,800.
-
they will be the highest ranked Asia team outside of China and Japan. If both make it in Qualifiers, they are next.
however, there are higher ranked teams than TH. If they could advance to atleast #12, then there is a chance for them
-
Ugh Brasil lost 😅😭
I enjoyed those long rallies, though.
-
Despite VNL tickets more than trippled from last year for the PH leg, it seems that the higher priced seats are sold-out. I also read that PH hosting contract with VNL was for 3 years.

If this current world ranking would count for Paris OG qualification, Germany is out, because France and best African team would be preferred and eleventh place of Germany would be one too bad to qualify - never they wlll get one of the first two places in OG qualifying tournament, or am I wrong?
My bad, @mattias is correct, the basis of world ranking for OG 2024 qualification will include the prelim results of VNL 2024
-
I agree. Overall I think the new world ranking system is a good idea, but IMO single results have too much impact. One surprising result can screw up the whole thing, just look at how close 9th-12th rank are and those are going to be the ranks that will fight for the last spots in OG. DOM's wins agains China and Serbia gave them a major boost, which in some way is fair, but imagine those are going to be the points that will get them the OG tickets. Are two tie-break wins against higher-ranked teams in VNL enough reason to make the Olympics even though overall they didn't qualify for the finals? I don't think so
The FIVB ranking for OG qualification will include only the preliminary phase of the VNL

Much better qualification process. I hope they could atleast increase the number of players to 13 per team so that an alternate libero can also be accomodated.
