Wow. This Korean team run is inspired but both Jong-ah and KYK flamed out during the last two games. They were the key in their last winning games. Now that it is somewhat confirmed that KYK is moving forward the national team. I wish this team all the best of luck. I am not the most familiar with the next gen of Korea but if the twins ever get reinstated, there might be a possibility they might do relatively fair. But otherwise, KYK would be a deep position to fill.

I think Japan's chances for the next Olympics would depend on how China would do this next Olympic's qualifiers. China's core is practically the same sans few key players (Ding and Dan), and given how they the few games played out in the Olympics there is material to still succeed internationally BUT they are frail. Japan is in the crossroads with the 2021 team. They are defensively and offensively better than the last few squads BUT this team is too shallow in talent to be competitive with stronger or more consistent teams. With THA and KOR having a team overhaul in the coming years , how they will be playing is still quite in the air. Their International Qualifiers chance is a bit low TBH but their chance for a continental qualifiers is relatively fair unless other talents would play far better. The next national coach/Nakada must focus on development of the others of the team and build on the positives of the current squad.

Congrats USA! May this win make people interested in making an American League.

I'm glad Ze will still play after this Olympics. This team is a bit bare bones but he was still able to push for a gold campaign.
-
While I was very wrong in both my prediction, USA had been piling great games this passed few years. They truly deserve this.

The Olympics is somewhat uneventful so far? I guess the weird things are the very sublime opening. Covid really affected the grandness of the games. Sports wise, not much noteworthy. Mostly some famous faces finally won (Daley, US Female Gymnastics teams), mostly of the controversy lies with the flops of the Olympics (Biles confidence issues, Novak failing a golden slam, Naomi flopping, Russia losing Rhytmic Gymnastics) but not really that big.

Jeong-ah is not her usual clutch self. But overall KOR is just not responding. Heejin has some sparks of brilliance, but pretty much silent in the set. KYK is a bit subdued too. Their current defense does not permit much of a middle game. But go Korea!! SRB is doing fine so far. More confidence in distribution in the set.

She’s not choking, it’s just her usual level
-
Korea is too tight. Their service game is not affecting the game so far, their offense is well read and SRB offense is overpowering them. Nothing is really going their way so far.
-
The korean libero is choking like hell
-
KOR defense is killing them right now.
-
KYK unable to convert last few time causing SRB to level.
-
Praying for KOR and BRA!

So Mikhaylov has completed the Olympic medal set
🥉2008 Beijing
🥇2012 London
🥈2020 Tokyo
Is there any other volleyball athlete who has accomplished this?
(RUS) Tetyukhin has all the colors with an extra bronze

Lol at RUS Coach's face being still red.

That definitely is the best match of the Men's Tourney. Well played by both teams!

TBH, I do not like FRA but I am happy for that win.

Is this a #PARIS2024👀👀👀👀
-
This is FRA's to lose.

Russia is thinking about aces and they are not getting their side outs now. Frances is getting confident.
