I do love the balance between Uzelac and Boskovic and I’m really confused why this is the like first time that’s ever been attempted lol…. Like they played full boskovic ball against Russia and play full uzelac ball without boskovic

Also Gocanin is a genuine high level prospect. Her reception is great and her defense is inconsistent sometimes but today was very good and it has flashes

I think with Aleksic and Dangubic we absolutely could have had a really nice chance at gold in just one match vs Italy or turkey but without those 2 it’s going to be very difficult and require a huge effort from boskovic and uzelac both being on point. Then again turkey barely beat us in the 2023 when all their players played their absolute peak game of their careers and Serbia was missing multiple starters for most of the match and played badly besides boskovic Lol. But I have to say you are really confident for a team that’s only been relevant since they started raiding norceca for talent because what they had domestically wasn’t good enough….

If Ebrar was on the roster, the gap would be even wider. Hande and İlkin are far superior to the Serbians in defensive side of the game. Offensively it's close, but we have good attacking depth off the bench with Derya and Yaprak.

Beyond that, Türkiye and Italy both have well-defined roles and an established system. Serbia lacks this completely. It’s still entirely unclear who plays where, what their exact roles are, and how they will actually fit into the rotation.

and yet Serbia has won far more than turkey ever has. That kind of experience matters. Plus Serbia likely is only gonna play against one of the other 2 and not both.

Russia struggles with reception, kinda expected of course. Serbia however, does look better than in VNL, but that only resulted in a very minor win with extra points in the tiebreak and Russia practically handing 2/3 out of 4 points among match points... So Russia's potential might be higher, but for now the team lacks chemistry, I'd kinda pull Lazareva in this team purely for her energy as a sub, I feel like they need someone with her kind of vibes in here.

well they did need another opp imo boskovic is not young enough to play every single game all season for a team that wants to win 5 trophies.

I love Ivanovic as much as anyone could on this forum and still think she has all the technical skills to be truly great and Giovanni is the perfect coach to revive her but like she’s nowhere near ready to start for vakifbank and Helena isn’t good either. With Dangubic out they have to sign an experienced OH to play next to marina if they want to do well this season in a very stacked field. Markovic is great but they need something from that other spot. Katerina was really playing well the end of last season too
