Yup but She has strong competition for starting role, She will need to put extra work and hardly doubt that She is gone play like She did….

For now she will be happy to get back to regular, pain- and fearfree practice in the first place.

Very obviously such an injury is a career killer in pro volleyball and she might never get back to the level she had arrived at last season. Would be sad with just 25 but let`s hope for the best.

I think this is the first informative interview with Hanna 9 months after her injury from a few weeks ago. Also tells something about the poor standing of volleyball in Gerrman media.

Not everything went easy for her during rehab but she`s planning to play the next season in Italy(Novara?)

Different cultures have different ways of cheering and that's the beauty of sports. It crosses the line when you start getting personal or discriminatory attacks targetted at players (or nations), but just being loud? Absolutely fine lol it's just good fun

Not to make more out of it, but whistling at the opponents serve has nothing to do with "culture" or cheering up the own team, it`s unfair and disrespectful regardless whether it`s an unconscious behavior or whatever.

Just saying, one of the things I don`t like about club volleyball is that so many players are changing the club pretty much like their underwear.

Of course not only the players fault but how might for instance the fans or the coach of Il Bisonte Firenze feel after seeing a totally new and pretty promising roaster already being crushed after the half of the season. Kind of ridiculous.

Little update on the performances of the German NT players in Italy

Alsmeier is doing really great at Firenze especially in her latest game against Chieri. Lina was already voted 3 times in the seria A team of the week and twice MVP of the match. With 173 points she`s in 1st place of OHs and in 8th position overall Beside that she`s leading the league in number of receptions, With coach Parisi I think she`s in very good hands to improve further.

Stigrot at Cuneo is a bit up and down. Named MVP twice but in some match she was replaced early or even not in the starting six. So I`d say she won?t be perfectly happy with her season so far.

Weitzel probably hurt right now or just sick (at least she wasn`t in the squad at Firenze) did not start exactly well in the new season. She is fighting with Zakchaiou for her place in the starting six at Chieri while Anna Gray is undisputed no.1 MB. Of course a bit early to say but it seems like not everything is going smooth this season for her so far.

Orthmann obviously out for the season. As usual hardly any news on social media or elsewhere about her recovery process. With such injuries of course hard to say when or whether at all she will come back and how her further career will go..

Since I hardly watch the German league - are there any promising new or improving players around? is Marie Hänle who went from Suhl to Dresden an option ? Is Janiska planning a comeback in the NT ? Maybe somebody can tell.

Okay, scrappy schedule (for everyone), probably some psychological stuff that the top teams are qualified anyway, blabla whatever.

Still absolutely astonishing how Germany dominated its group and actually never was even close to a loose a match against these opponents in pretty much full strength on paper. It`s just a qualification tournament but imo a similar upset like what Grman basketball team achieved this year.

Pretty unlucky for the super talented Slowenian team caught in a bad rotation towards the end of the fifth set.

On the German side - the loss of Orthmann in attack obviously is very hard to compensate for this team. Otherwise great fighting spirit and Weitzel for the rescue, Clearly MVP and getting better and better.

    .

I actually wonder how Karakurt gets away with her ugly behavior on the court and this time even Santarelli didn`t stop her..

Not necessarily from the referee`s side but from the opposing teams. It should be pretty easy to make her freak out and get her sent off the court if you push the right buttons...

Great second set from an inspired Belgium team in any aspect, Turkey completely off and clueless.

Looks like there`s a major surprise possible in this match.

volleyball.it says Orthmann has torn ACL and meniscus ;(;(;( And the whole situation looked so harmless...

Isn't it lovely how Italian sources do the job DVV isn't capable of (or willing to do)?

Maximum penalty for Hanna... obviously a tough girl but looking at her facial expression and the way she went off she might immediately have recognized that something really bad had happened.

And yes, public rating,/relation and how German media in general are dealing with volleyball is very disappointing .

Don`t know anything about the procedure of presale but the next highlight in this context very likely will be to watch how Turkish fans turn the match into an absolute away game.
