I am surprised MJ Philips and Tia Andaya were not included in the line up. Excited for the debut of Nitura and Loresco (also plays Opp and is way better than Cruz).
Philips and Andaya may still have the federation switch (?) issues, same with Laput probably.
-
I saw the PH lineup just now:
OH: Canino, Belen, Nitura, Gandler, Laure
MB: Gagate, Sharma, Loresco, Palomata
S: De Guzman, Lamina, Coronel
OPP: Solomon, Cruz
L: Catindig (Macandili), Nierva
2 will be reserves

I divided them into two teams, and both could beat any team in the world
Matveeva/Romanova
Tolok/Akimova
Fedorovtseva/Kurilo/Voronkova/Kapralova
Koroleva/Lazarenko/Pushina/Fitisova
Alekseeva/Bibina
Kobzar/Filishtinskaia
Markova/Lazareva
Gatina/Kapustina/Parubets/Kotikova
Fetisova/Kochurina/Enina/Brovkina
Kostiukevich/Perova
OH's depth is so insane that I put Tolok and Markova as opposites and still left out players like Popova, Kuznetsova, Gorbunova, Biryukova and Chernova.
How has Suvurova been in France this season? I remember she won a best MB award/s in previous U tournaments.

Anyway Nina Cajic is a very interesting prospect to me. I’m a huge ncaa fan as I live in America and so I watch almost every relevant match in NCAA volleyball for the last like 9 years. Nina has serious potential to be good for the national team. I don’t think she has very best in the world potential or anything but she’s very smart and has a great jump and sees the block well. Her attack from 6 is fantastic! To give some context she had better stats than Madi Skinner playing in the same conference with less talent around her
I'm really excited for her as well and I hope she gets a chance in the national team. Hopefully she gets meaningful playing time in Indy Ignite because there are 5 OHs (including her) in their roster
-
Do you think that Vajagic and/or Cajic has a chance to be called? I am sad about Vajagic's injury, she seemed to be doing well in the youth tournaments before that although I have not watched much of her during the club season.

Canada without Gray and Bulgaria with new coach maybe some older players will come back, I don’t see it 3-0.
Is Gray retiring from the national team or just taking a break?

Maddie Madayag (MB) to Kurobe AquaFairies in Japan

Jedinstvo Stara Pazova
Outside hitters:
Una Vajagić
Vajagic is going to Wisconsin, will the outside hitters also be coming from Omladinac?
First big news, entire starting 6 from our champion Jedinstvo will move abroad.
It's time, they overgrown league and Jedinstvo will make transition this season with their younger players.
Players living:
Branka Tica
Minja Osmajić
Do you know which team/s Tica received offers? Garotta mentioned Cuneo but I don't think there are other news for her transfer so far.
Will the league be also streamed overseas? Two seasons ago, all the matches were streamed but I wasn't able to follow the previous season.
-
Herbors and Van Armaet probably will not attend.
Do you know the reason? I was looking forward to see them play here but alas

LOVB Madison announced Wang Simin a few days ago.

LOVB Madison announced Milica Medved.

Now as for some individual performances:
Setters: Miljevic was solid as expected, she really grew as a player compared to week1, she didn’t play a lot but overall not bad.
Perovic was highlight of this week for me. Amazing performance considering it was her NT debut and she is only 23yo coming back from ACL injury. She was so solid in all aspects of her game and she showed she really has potential to be starter after Maja and Drca, she is already 3rd in line amongst our setter for me personally (it’s bias a bit cause I’m her fan for a long time
)
Liberos:Medved better then I expected. I’m too critical cause I’m not a big fan but she did fine. 70% positive reception is crazy good and there is no denying that but her defense is a big problem for me. Very solid performance and I’m happy for her, excited how she will do in LOVB.
Gocanin on the other hand was everywhere and her floor defense is amazing, she was best player on the floor for us in many sets when others were just not delievering. She can cover others on reception really well but her inability to make perfect pass in general and even on some easy serves is frustrating.
We really should have played 2 libero system and it would work so so well right there. Then again, both liberos got their chances and both played really well imo.I hope players from both positions get more chances in the next few events (especially the setters). I really liked Rada's performance. She wasn't in the VNL but I am excited for Vajagic in Wisconsin (+ Ivkovic in UCLA). Hope both of them grow their games a lot more in NCAA.

You guys are the native speakers so correct me if I'm wrong, but it says Taubner will be out for months? That's honestly unfortunate
Was looking forward to her debut in the senior's team as well. Does this mean Bjelica is the sole OPP for this week?
Also quite unfortunate considering Taubner will play (?) in Potsdam next club season so that would also be delayed as well
-
It was supposed to be:
4 - Vicky Savard, Jonquière, QC
5 - Julia Murmann, Toronto, ON
6 - Jazmine White, Oshawa, ON
7 - Layne Van Buskirk, Windsor, ON
9 - Alexa Gray, Calgary, AB
11 - Andrea Mitrovic, Mississauga, ON
12 - Jennifer Cross, Scarborough, ON13 - Brie King, Langley, BC
14 - Hilary Howe, Calgary, AB
15 - Shaïnah Joseph, Ottawa, ON
16 - Caroline Livingston, Kelowna, BC
17 - Kacey Jost, St. Albert, AB
18 - Kim Robitaille, Repentigny, QC
19 - Emily Maglio, Coquitlam, B.C.
From what I heard, Avery Heppell might replace Cross.
I'm not super familiar with Canadian women's volleyball but wasn't Ogoms lined up before? she's an MB iirc, wonder why she wasn't called up this season
-
Gray is now the team captain for Canada after Cross went back to Canada.
-
Yes, she is only question mark for next season
Are there any rumors that tell which club/s she is negotiating with?
-
Yes, some of the best players right now are still in the University (maybe half of the NT roster can be University players for Women's) and they are not called to NT, for various reasons.
Apologies for derailing this thread with all these PH NT conversations, so here's my last take on this: In Men's Volleyball, only 1 from the 2019 SEA Games silver medallist team is in the lineup this 2023 SEAG even though the players before are still some of the best players of the Philippines. Only 1 out of 14 with almost everyone begging off. That alone speaks how bad the situation is
Primary reason being that the collegiate league isn't in sync with the FIVB calendar. But this is another conversation for another day
I'm quite pessimistic about the team later but I hope they give a good fight to Indonesia
