I’ve had high hopes for her for so long, but she was dreadful yesterday. To be fair she wasn’t set that often, but she is overall THE hole for Guangdong. If they’d had a reliable OPP (even say, Zhou Yetong), they’d have at least taken it to 5. But her performance was poor.
Makes the decision to bring her to VNL, WCH even more ridiculous. She was worse than useless in WCH, and even while playing she is extremely subpar. Are her parents influential? Is that why she was taken on 2 holidays? -

i know she's recovering, and i know the ... situation ... with the setter, but watching zhu in this state is just depressing
She’s really passive for now. I’m hoping this is a coaching direction. But she sort of opened up in the last set which showed us a flash of what she’s really capable of… Her blocks and serves are still meh for now, but defensively she is still incredibly strong. They need to fix the connection with the setter - she didn’t look comfortable spiking at all with all those too-wide sets, but still managed to make something out of nothing. 16 points is a good start!

Mingardi really overperformed and came alive this game. I thought she was incredibly mediocre in the previous game against Novara, so it was nice to see what she was capable of! I think the middles have a lot to work on - comparing Belien and Washington against Lohuis
Belien kind of reminds me of Yuan this NT season - not sure if it’s the setter connection, but both her and Washington need to work on their block judgment.
Malinov I think has become quite the headcase unfortunately, that double touch call on her one and only set… Sports psychologist asap… Zhu looks good! Still finding her footing especially in her cross court attacks, but I think it’s only up from here! -
Beyond excited to see Zhu in action! She looked nervous, and was definitely a bit hesitant especially in her blocks , but I’m sure this is just growing pains. Reception was pretty good, defense also fairly decent. Only up from here!

The Hillstate v Pink Spiders game has been the best I’ve seen so far. Haven’t watched much V league but finally seeing a bit of speed in the attack! A shame about the Pink Spiders setter, I think she has some work to do…
also the Hillstate libero is phenomenal. Is she on the NT? -

Washington hasn’t scored a single point, the OHs can’t receive or score, almost no successful blocks, so many double touch calls against Malinov, Castillo looking dazed and confused…… what is happening -

so is this Scandicci’s regular standard? Bc poor Zhu might have to carry it like she carried the NT… Very poor first and second touches. Slow, short, lousy decision making. Antropova is the only one doing adequately!
