I don't know about new stars, but if I pick three players to highlight it would be Guezen - who has grown in the past year into the starter role, Hester Jasper finally able to show her talent as libero, and Koput who might have been Poland's best MB this VNL? so for 'Talent of VNL26' I'd nominate Koput

Koput deserves the acknowledgement. It's kinda crazy VBW highlighted that 2007 MB from China 10 times throughout the tournament but zero posts about Koput :aww:

the first one was in 2021 (the youth event of 2021 Chinese National Games)

the second one was in 2026

    sorry

She had surgery earlier this month or last month right and then she did another surgery on a different knee again? or did I misunderstood? that's why I said in the span of 2 months. That sounds like a lot if it's back to back

Smarzek has now different plans and we won’t see her in NT anymore.

About Gorecka - in 2024 when all best players were called and came to the NT camp before Olympics, she failed medical examination. She was after a serious knee injury and it came out that she has 2 different legs and can’t take any effort regarding to a single game. After mr X (I don’t want to write his name here but you know who I mean) heard that, he accused polish staff on conspiracy against the player and trying to keep her away from playing and competitions at the OGs.

After that, Zuza follows mr x logic and refuses any call from the NT. IMO she has a very bad advisor.

It's probably a mistranslation when you said 2 different legs but I kinda get the context.

But even when she was in the NT, Lavarini barely used her so it's safe to assume he doesn't see her as someone valuable enough for this team.

It's been a rollercoaster for Brazil. They went from being the last undefeated team to getting crushed by Germany then in a bizarre turn lost to Thailand and they lost Julia Kudiess too. I'm not particularly rooting for either teams but this is interesting in the way I know the fans are going to come after United Nations the way russia13 does to Italy.

and playing without gabi this time

How does one even forget that they are carrying around a bag full of weed that is illegal in their own country:what: was he already high or what.... I don't want to think anyone is seriously that dumb

I think you don't mean an opposite, but rather an outside hitter. Last year, there was a lot of talk about Leilani Slacanin from the U19 squad. I don't know if there was any discussion about converting her to the opposite position, but currently, she plays as an outside hitter.

The opposite hitters last year were Celin Jebens and Marie Hänle (U23/Universiade), as well as Marika Loker (U19).

yes Slacanin! i remember someone posted a photo of her with her mom somewhere in this forum. thanks for the info

I love how Opposite used to be the problematic position for Germany in the past years, but actually both Kindermann and Weske are doing a fine job so far!

Also I know that Kohn-ijnenberg love to play as fast as possible but they should remember that sets need to be above the net tobe hittable, especially in those longer rallies :cheesy:

wasn't there a young opp from germany's u squad last year that was gaining some attention. i forgot her name but she was definitely not at the friendly today, would've liked to see her

"oh wow there's lots of posts in the lovb thread"

Sorry about the offtopic. I don't know how to make a spoiler

It's just I've been following Keita since the pandemic during the whole "monster of the vertical jump" on youtube was everywhere (guilty pleasure) and it wasn't at all his choice to play in Asia but he was having issues with his management/agency back then so this whole IT'S THEIR CHOICE!!! statement doesnt apply to everyone

fire_erik_sullivan did you see what the president of LVF said about US leagues? I saw Kelsey reacting to a post about it. She said something like... at least they're talking about us

"Many, not me, feared the birth of the American leagues; look how it's going. Our model is always a winner . "

I just read through the whole thing and that one came out of nowhere.. LOVB catching strays lol.

I wonder if it's related to their whole social media game that Italy is way behind on. LVF has been integrating content creators and influencers like crazy this season. Anyone else noticed it?

Thank you for changing the topic. ;)

Nestler is ill (not injured) but it's unclear if she can play tomorrow.

If she's not, I expect Schaarschmidt to replace her since it was clear that Fijok is much needed as an attacker.

Oh thank god because she's also needed to be in good condition for the NT

Hopefully she'll be back in action tom
