Wolosh with 2 amazing digs on Aleksic to lower confidence of Zeren in the end.

Really great game, it would be unfortunate for Zeren to lose this after the fight they've shown.

Great rotation for Zeren to end the set, with

Aleksic at the net and Uzelac pipe from which she has been most lethal today and then Gatina sub to make sure you have a player capable of getting points on negative balls. :super:

I'm gonna admit Ecz x Boskovic trauma runs deep, but this match says something about how Vakif managed to still win this in 4 sets despite Tica showing her worst performance in a couple of years. She literally had 2 points on tips in the first 2 sets + their 2nd OHs were unusable in attack the whole match, and yet they still won.

    Ecz could never. :rolll:

edit: Biggest credit to Markova of course, what a performance she had putting this team on her back... :super:

he put Chiaka in for Deniz right before service and not Zehra who has been useless for 2 sets now

Cansu still not fully there physically, precision on balls she has to run for has been pretty bad. Everything starts with reception which completely fell apart for Vakif and they've been catching up since.

Zehra makes a block 2 min later, because of course she does. This forum's jinxs is so funny I swear.

Cansu will have to involve middle more since their reception and counterattack gave some really good opportunities that they didn't use, but Chiaka is certainly gonna fix that a bit since she won't be ignoring her for sure. Vakif still has a couple of gears left once they all get more playing time together throughout the season.

Terzic sticking with the same lineup and giving up on any significant change to at least try something different is so annoying. This collection of players already showed their limit without Boskovic, expecting a different result at this point is just stupid.

Also, get Aleksic off the court ffs...

Users also got warnings for spreading "conspiracy theories" which are looking to be true today...

Copravolley22 please don't bring on the table conspirancy theories.

    volleySrb same for you.

Why can't you discuss without conspirancy theories and staying chill? HolyVoly was able to do so, so why you guys can't?

Unofficial warning for Copravolley22 and volleySrb.

I've watched Marija Boricic give interviews after games for a few years now and I've never heard her be anything less than respectful to the opponent, so I was sure something had to come out of that comment since she isn't the type to throw jabs and be a sore loser like some people suggested here. She was even accused of sexism. And to the argument of how she should have complained formally and not to the media, since FIVB is investigating it that means they also filed formal complaints. So please, stop with the whole labeling and cancel culture!

Hande might have been atrocious in attack today, but her defense is the reason they are in this game to begin with, tbh. Still think they should have subbed her when she was at the net though.

Firstly, Turkey is not in the best shape physically, with injuries and mental exhaustion due to playing 3 days in a row. That aside, a great tactical execution and much better focus from the team compared to other games.

Our serves were so much better and probably with the least number of errors this week( I'm too lazy to check). The target was very clear, trying to get Karakurt tiered and out of the game. Once that was achieved, everything fell into place. Our block looked much better once we were forcing the other team to play out of system a lot.

The reception line held up so well today! Granted, we were leading big at the end of sets every time, so the reception collapses we experienced before weren't repeated today, but I still think it's a question that remains open for me.

Terzic with a great tactical change of Milenkovic for reception and defense in the right moment, wonder why he hadn't used her more before. I always wanted us to go harder on Karakurt in the matchcaps vs Turkey like we were today, but Gio loved to change up his reception targets, which was so frustrating for me. If Terzic is still good at something, it's finding a weakness in the opponent and hammering it with every possible tool he has. I think we were also targeting her in defense as well, but I'm not sure. I was too excited for us to be finally playing some recognisable volleyball that I wasn't paying much attention to details.
Also, did anyone else notice Mirkovic wasn't taking all of the OOS sets today? I think Jegdic was taking most of them, with much better success than before, but also so was everyone else tbh. Reminded me of that match when Naz was avoiding having to set Boskovic in the Club WCH I think. I'm gonna have to rewatch again, but it definitely felt like they were calling out balls early and sometimes even when it wasn't needed.

Jegdic and Mirkovic with the best performances of this VNL also helped.

Closing thoughts, I expected Terzic to try Uzelac and Ivanovic at some point this VNL, but it's working better than I expected, as it's technically only week 1 of trying it. As long as our service pressure is good, I think their deficiencies in defence can be minimised. The mental side is still a problem, but having another scorer with the same number of points as Boskovic was all we could wish for a couple of years back. This is a completely new team trying to win with 3 20-year-olds, it's gonna take some time to get use to having them play through mistakes. I just won't be supporting Mirkovic through those, that's all.
(Haven't made this kind of a long post in a while, iykyk. As Nikola Jokic once said, 'Winning is fun, losing sucks.':drink:)

I'm going to write my full thoughts later in the NT thread, but for now, I'm really happy we had at least one game where we showed what this group can do. They had it for stretches in many matches, but without much drop in quality over 3 sets is very encouraging.

What clubs was Grozer playing in recently? She is playing amazingly in every segment tbh. So stable and reliable, and also seems like a great leader.
Czechia libero is doing wonders as well. :rose:
