Let's put all these things correctly.

1- Frantti's transfer was a sudden and unexpected move, while she was about to sign with BJK. While this was happenning, GS management was in negotiation with Conegliano about Lukasik and with Sylla personally. Right after signing with Frantti, Conecliano agreed on Loan Transfer of Lukasik to GS. So Lukasik is still the Player of Conegliano, Loaned to GS until the end of the season. The original plan was to have İlkin and Lukasik at OH as 1st option.

2- Sylla was the player, interested by GS since the beginning of 2025 (January) and tried to convince her however it took so long, because of several reasons such as Milano/Sylla relations and NT season. It was announced like a kinder egg, which made the fans so happy. She signed for 2 years. Right after this, Lukasik was considered as the 3rd OH and Frantti as the 4th option. I even dont consider Turkish Aslı Tecimer.

3- Before the beginning of the season (officially) I wrote about Frantti that, she could hardly find a spot in the roster. This is what exactly happened. Yes I also see a strong possibility for her to find another team (local-Turkish or abroad) and this will not make me cry. Is it bad for the team to have her in the roster? Definitely not, since she is so ambitious and tries to give her best and this adds an extra value to team's training sessions (maybe in some matches in the coming weeks). However, she was the weakest ring in the chain for GS, considering her overall performance during friendly matches so far.

4- Being the 3rd OH option is not such a bad thing, especially considering the team, having a long journey in the league and at the same time in CEV Cup also Turkish Cup, as well as possible playoffs for championship. Last year GS played in Challenge Cup semi finals against Chieri with 7 players in rotation, while Chieri played with11 players in rotation. The same bad scenario happened during the championship playoffs of Turkish League. I strongly believe that, she will find more time on court in the coming weeks and I don't see any reason to create a fuss here, right after the 2nd week. I personally believe in her quality and the contributions she can make for GS.

5- When it comes to foreigner limitation, again another manipulative comment which was an old topic. I want to put it in the proper way. For Turkish league 2025-26, foreigner limitation is 3+2 in rotation, which enables 3 foreigners at the same time and 5 foreigner players in rotation within the same match on court. GS has 6 foreigners and that is why Frantti was excluded from the roster for 2 matches.

6- Along with the transfer of Wang Yuan yuan, number of foreigners will increase to 7 and referring to current foreigner limitation rule, 2 players will be forced to get excluded from the roster. However, if Frantti decides to leave after the 1st half, same number (6 foreigners) will remain as it is now. Along with the new season (2026-27), the rule will change and it will be 3+3 (6 foreigners on court in rotation) which will fit to current number of foreigners.

It is just the beginning of the new season and only time will tell us who will come and who will go at the end of the season. All depends to players performances and the team's success and Player's/Team-Team's/player satisfaction.. Anything to say at this moment (well in advance), is just speculation and rumor without any background.

If you are interested, below is the full interview with GS Manager Neşve Büyükbayram, about the team's structure and the new transfers.

I have checked the stats today and you are right. It seems the one from yesterday were incomplete.

OK this is not your mistake but as we chat with VBdiamond and others about how VolleyStation's stats are mess, I can recommend to everyone to be patient in not to jump on stats at the 1st moment. It is advisable to give a buffer something like at least 24 hours, since they change those stats frequently, sometimes 3 times as it happened with last week's GS vs Aydın Büyükşehir. İlkin's attack performance was changed from 15 to 18 points and block from 1 to 2. Also they put some absurd figures about reception stats + wrong figures for Dangubic at Vakıf Match. This week's İlkin's attack performance was also wierd indicating 6 kills for whole match and later on they changed and put correct figure 12. This week also there were some anomalies abou Eczacıbaşı. The worst point is that, some program makers in Türkiye, jump on these stats right after the match or after a short while without verifying the figures and caught on wrong foot.

You were wondering how he changed Sylla and not Ilkin... in that particular match...That's what you wrote. So I explained why he did what he did in that match. He couldn't make direct change of Ilkin. Also there was no need to change her in that match. They were 2-0 in sets, very easily won and then it was 18-18 in third set. There was no need to change something that was working.
Of course he has options but he is not that type that rotate a lot. At least it is how I remember him. So I am afraid Łukasik will not see a lot of court. That last minute transfer of Sylla was terrible for Łukasik. She went there knowing that probably she will play with Ilkin. Unfortunate choice of the team after a season on bench in Conegliano.

Please don't be so pesimistic about Lukasik. She is one of the underestimated player in volleyball community. She is like the Polish type of İlkin and needs to play more to show her real performance so comparing her with Frantti doesn't fit well. She is, tall, strong, athletic, productive over the net and well balanced at reception and back row floor defence. Conegliano did not transfer her randomly or coincidentally. Another point is, she still belongs to Conegliano and GS just hired her from Conegliano. She has a very bright future in her NT and whereever she plays and yasterday she proved this at the end of final set. Hope that GS can manage to keep her for the coming seasons as well. I strongly believe that, she will have more time on the court.

Yesterday, she had 4/5 in attack when she subbed Sylla. What’s strange for me that Barbolini replaced the Italian player instead of Ilkin who had less than 30% in attack, while Sylla was around 50%.

Another surprise for me is Grobelna being the main OPP instead of Alexia. I think the Turkish player is better and local.

What I like about Galatasaray this season is that they have a good domestic pool of players. Barbolini can rotate a lot!

No dear...I really don't know what you talk about. It was just the right time to sub Sylla with Lukasik. Sylla made back to back errors at attack at critical moments. That is why she was subbed by Lukasik. Also, have in mind that, when this change happened, İlkin was at the back row. Lukasik had an extraordinary performance in those moments. Lukasik 5 attacks with 4 points and 0 error.

By the way, İlkin didn't have less than 30% at attack. Her performance at attack was 40% kill with 30% efficiency 12 kills and 3 blocks, which was well distributed across sets also she was the best at reception after Eylül.

About Alexia, yes I like her a lot and I also feel like, she should have more time in the court but I still cannot blame Barbolini for his decision. It was Barbolini who wanted Grobelna's transfer and seems like he wants to give her more time in the court. The truth is, Grobelna was not bad (not very good either for an OPP) and believe me, if she was supposed to have a weaker performance, Barbolini wouldn't hesitate to sub her with Alexia, in which she did against Aydın Büyükşehir and Alexia showed a great performance there and I can easily say that, she was one of the game changer, along with İlkin and Sylla (with her serve efficiency and kill performance with 7 points 50% attack and efficiency) and 0 attack error. Lets's wait and see, what the time will bring.

Probably Li Ying-ying, since GS signed with Wang Yuan yuan having, no further plan for this season, at least till the end of 1st half. Fb already announced 2 additional quota for Chinese players from the beginning also known that they were in competion with GS through Li Ying Ying (known that they have attempted with transfer proposal to Li Ying Ying) and that is why, Li Ying Ying is still a high possibility to FB.

It is not just the streaming but also VolleyStation's confusing stats. For example, they changed the stats sheet 3 times for GS-Aydın. 1st it was shared during and right after the match, then they revised deducting attack points of İlkin to 15 and early this morning put the right figure 18 attack points. 3 points difference was absolutely insane for 1 match. About the same match, it is about Sylla's receiving stats which also looks quite questionable. Can anyone say that, Sylla's receiving stats for set 1 is just 33% pos and 0 perf.? This means out of 6 receiving she received 2 pos only. It sounds really comic. More tragic one is for set 2, indicating out of 4 receiving 0% pos and 0% perf. 3rd set performance indicator is also questionable.

Here is the full match. Please watch, take your notes and make your own judgement.

    https://sultanlar.volleystatio…ig-etabi/matches/2250917/

Even before the transfer of Sylla, we had some discussions here about the OPPs/Setters duo and when I said Grobelna fits better with Naz and similarly Alexia fits better with Bongaerts. We saw exactly the same duos on court. In double subs, Alexia/Bongaerts replaced Naz and Grobelna. Which duo was more productive in this match? Well I can easily say, it was Alexia/Bongaerts duo.

Another couple of words about OH duo. İlkin and Sylla looked good for the 1st match of the season. Sylla did very good job, particularly at attack and İlkin played a game changer role in the 2nd and 3 set. Thank you Sylla and you are welcome. Now is Lukasik's turn and look forward to seeing her in upcoming matches. It would be difficult for Frantti to find a spot, unless any unexpected injury happens.

Middles of GS should improve more, otherwise they might face some difficulties in the coming matches.

Finally, I was not expecting such a resistance by Aydın Büyükşehir. They were good at block and floor defence and not bad at attack. Since the srtucture of the team newly built, they lost because of their anxiety at the last moments.

We all know you don’t watch the games and you are only looking at the statistics but this is new level of nonsense my friend

Just go off... I watch the game live on my TV set and 2 times later on. While having nothing to say, you just try to underestimate the stats, which tells a lot about the performances. You also sank.

Elif was never an scapegoat for anyone. She is just inefficient for this level and from my perspective she do not even fit the same sentence with Cansu. When it comes to Cansu you just said it by yourself. Everybody has their ups and downs and there is nothing more than that. I guess, the fact that you mentioned it , saws that you understands that this was a big down .So, when the setter plays bad all the team plays bad.

Did we crucify her ? No. As I said before and in the comment that you quoted she was a strangely bad day for but the next time everything is going to be fine. If this is not interpreted like : "She was bad but she will not be like this the next time because she is usually good and this was just one bad day" I do not know what it means.

The other things are just made up excuses because you just can not accept that some of your players are not what you think they are and when you see something that you do not fit in the image that you formed in your mind , then it must be the other bad people that are hostile towards Turks. Nobody said that Cansu is entirely responsible for anything, only that she had her responsibilities in a match. That's all and nothing more. She is generally top level and she had a bad day. How you ended up to your conclusion? Sorry I can not understand you!!!

Don't feel so sorry, cause you don't understand anything and you just try to say something with your very limited knowledge, insisting on the false, therefore more you write, more you sink.

Trying to give lecture with your limited knowledge by saying that, when the setter plays bad all the team plays bad, you skip the reality that, if a setter has trouble in receiving good pass or set, then she might have challenges in organising the attacks. Another insufficient lecture of yours....

When I said, everybody have ups and downs, I didn't mean specifically Cansu. She did everything within her capacity. Besides, when you say Elif is inefficient for this level, it sounds purely intentional or your delutional level understanding, which does not fit to anywhere.

None of the mentioned players are mine. If you consider it, just with due to the nationality, then tell me about yours. I just try to asses all of them, based on their performances no matter from which nation they are (Serbian, Italian, Polish, Brasilian, Japan, Chinese or Turkish). About Turkish players, you can read my comments and critics in the thread, Turkish NT.

Read what VBdiamond wrote, which is mainly true.

It's not like Cansu was bad for no specific reason, because VakifBank was crushed from the service line. I don't remember them playing with such a poor passing in a decade maybe... And it came all from Markova (and Derya) and the libero, because Cazaute was outstanding.

On the other hand, Orro gets hyped for her one hand set to Vargas and went viral. Who cares Vargas crashed into the ground to kill it and it was a short and low set. :gone:

The only point which I disagree about is Markova's case. She was the main target of FB strong servers which she managed quite well, in spite of 3 receiving errors but her quality at reception was really good (58% pos 23% perf in total 26). Agree that Ayça and Derya were collapsed (as usual and expected) but at the same time, Hande was one of the worst in the same criteria at FB side (which was not expected). And yes, Cazaute had an exceptional performance in that area...

    Enlightenedtrue.

She had an amazing first 2 sets hitting without error around 50%. It’s only after that when whole team also choked that her performance fell off. I can understand it, she just started training after injury and she ran out of gas, it can only go better from here considering her physical shape but also her connection with Cansu which was scary bad all game

It was not a normal day for Cansu. I do not remember her playing worst than this in terms of setting quality, so the next team everything is going to be fine.

These are another bunch of funniest argument after sometime. From one side, you are saying that, Bosko played very good 2 sets at the beginning. Was she receiving those sets, passes from FB setter? You never give up accusing others, due to declining performance of Boskovic.

In previous years, scapegoat was Elif and now it is Cansu. What a coincidence that, these 2 are the setters of Turkish NT, who dominates all cups in the world. Please pay respect a bit, before making those biased and funny comments.

Noone is perfect and all might have ups and downs but none of the mentioned setters are directly responsible, because of Boskovic's declined performance in a full match. Turk or non-Turk, all volleyball fans respect Boskovic and have an understanding that, she might need sometime to get fully recovered and to increase her performance.

It would be nice to accept this and stop crucifying others (Unless, all these comments of yours are intentional).

A couple of more points to add for this match...

1- It was obviously the test of mental strength between the two and FB won (or Vakıf lost). FB demolished against Vakıf at the beginning in 2 sets but then Vakıf stopped, having a mentality that, FB is nothing and we can get the 3rd and go home while singing... This was a mistake for any team and they paid the price of it. After losing the 3rd set, they got panicked and lost the 4th set as well. After that, Vakıf really shooked up and questioned themselves. Tie break was a tight set for both and even Vakıf got the chance to win, they couldn't managed to make it.

2- The physical condition of some players also played a key role. Especially Boskovic's physical performance declined dramatically along with the 3rd set and onwards. That was due to her back to back injuries and will take time to catch up her previous physical condition. At the end of tie break, she got the chance to finish the set and win the title but no luck. If she was made that, I can't imagine, how everyone would jump on and lynching Hande because of her bad receivings and unforced errors. She was the weakest ring of the chain at FB. Cazaute performance was impressive at Vakıf and also Markova was surprisingly good at receiving.

3- Final word about Vargas... No she did not deserve to be MVP (not Orro either), and instead of Vargas I would give it to Arina, who was the key player of this Cup.

Still too early to have a clear vision about the two teams and about who would be dominant against each other. Both are really strong and only time will tell us the championship. This year, expect many surprises.

Lol dont be so dramatic , brovkina isnt a housewife depending on his abusive partner. There were never official announcement about whole thing so we don't know what part of that story is bullshit told to get interactions on Twitter. I was also very upset when I first heard about the news but seeing their videos, I wasn't sure what part of stort was true and what part was juicy exaggeration from Twitter accounts. Since Ebrar has a lot of haters, people CHOOSE to believe whatever shitty things people tell about her. I'm not saying she is a saint, but better be cautious before making such strong judgements about her

That's true, however she will continue her career in Türkiye and she will be under the spotlight with her every act and move. Under these circumstances, she needs to learn auto control, to control herself both outside and on the court. She needs to learn to put a distance to any kind of provokations more than ever, including the ones coming from outside and from the 3rd parties. She needs to focus on her career and performance completely. Otherwise she might need to open another chapter at somewhere else (but for how long?).

OMG. What a diversity and contradiction!

While trying to explain the 3+2 foreigner quota system in Sultanlar and the facts that, even if you have 6 or 7 foreigners, a well balanced team with good management can use them all in rotation in different matches (in both local and international) along with good locals, in spite of some others claiming that, expensive foreigners transfers are just a waste in terms of players and resource but suddenly, the discussion turned into wasted local players.

OK. Great. In Türkiye, foreigners are wasted and so the locals. Overall Turkish Volleyball is wasted. Satisfied?:gone:

I strongly believe that Danesi words were heavily misunderstood and lost in translation. Whoever speaks Italian notices that her words could be controversial, but they were not racist or discriminatory at any moment.

It reminds me the big fuss caused by Santarelli’s word during a TO against Brazil, when he said the famous “They do not have quality”, but it was more than obvious for anyone with two drops of common sense that he clearly intended that Brazilian team did not have quality in that passage of the match, he meant in that rotation or when someone Brazil doesn’t have good reception. Even though he could also be labelled as provocative (and I do agree), he never disrespected at all Brazilian team or their history at the sport.
But people choose what to believe and most of social networks in Brazilian despise Santarelli cuz of this.

Most of the things you have mentioned here is correct. On the other hand, Danesi must be clever enough, to think where her words are going to...OK She wrote a book and shared her experiences with some trading strategies in order to take attention but she should know that, scratching the same point can cause some scars and continuously talking about Turkish NT and the players with some sarcastic wordings in her book can obviously takes reaction. We are in 2025 and going 2 years back, they were defeated from all arenas and she was also there. What if Türkiye defeats them in 2026? Will she modify her book?

Orro and Sylla came to Türkiye with very warm welcoming. If the people who show reaction to Danesi are racists, why the same people warmly welcoming these mentioned players (Sylla and Orro)? It is a very dangerous stage and everyone should be careful with their speeches, what they write or say, which may cause all sides to consider others as racist.

Point is you can have as many foreigners on roster as you want, you just need to put 3 Italians on court in Serie A1.

In Turkey with the 3+2 rule, having 2 or 3 foreign players not being to make the roster all games is a waste. I agree with this.

Please correct me if I am wrong. You are saying that, "you just need to put 3 Italians on court in Serie A1". Considering 6+1, they are allowed to start with 3-4 foreigners, in case 3 locals are on the court. If not, they can rotate locals at any moment of the game, playing some moments with as many foreigners they have. This is just one point and max foreigner is 4+3 (7).

On the other hand, at Sultanlar, with the same min number of locals which is 3 at the same time on court, they are allowed to have 3 foreigners at starting 6 at the same time along with 3 locals but this doesn't mean that, there would be no rotation in the following moments. Based on 3+2 foreiner rule, the rest 2 can take chances along with 3 locals in the following moments and phases (sets), based on opponents, challenges, strategy and performance. So if a team has 6 foreigner players and allowed to have 5 in the match roster, this doesn't mean that one of them is wasted. The one can take chances in the following matches as explained above (opponents, challenges, strategy and performance). Not only that but you need to consider the injuries, performance decline and not only for Sultanlar League but also for the international matches.

We mainly talked about GS and this year, they have the luxury to go into several rotations with 2 high level setters (Naz and Bongaerts) and you agree or not, 2 very good OPPs (Alexia and Grobelna - one local and 1 foreigner) similar as setters and team will be able to use all foreigners in their roster. The point is; who will deliver and fulfil the expectations?

We are not discussing which is better or worse (4+3, 3+2, 3+3) rules. The point is, almost all teams are being accused and exaggerated for wasting their resources and players, which is not a true case and which I disagree.
