Not really. The last season Rettke was dedly , with monsterous performaces of 70% or 80% and was attacking from the position 3 not from the slide. This is her good hit but I suppose there is not the right connection with Elif.
I don't think Elif is good at involving the middles. And performing well as a middle in a mid team doesn't mean it's gonna translate in a top team. Especially since middles have a limited role in top teams these days.
And by signing Rettke, Ecza has weakened Milano, since Laura is so washed these days.

Underwhelming? Fener won the league and the Turkish Cup. They had a one bad game at CL (while Milano peaked), but this happens in sport.
Plus this two are still performing on highest level, fighting for CUPs and awards.
Maja and Wolosz have longevity unlike others setters.
Lo Bianco had longevity as well. She retired at 40 y.o. because of injuries and you know,sadly she had to face cancer. Not because she couldn't set in "modern volleyball".
And Lo Bianco could run great offence (and win cups!!11) even in Bergamos with Ortolani, Nucu, Arrighetti, Secolo etc... Those Bergamo teams were actually so low budget compared to the Conegliano of these last years

Gotta give credit where credit’s due.. Plummer’s serving run and those 2 aces were really important in USA’s comeback in the third. She also did a fine job receiving. I’m not sold on her attack.. she had some good points, but got blocked a lot..
PLummer gets set out of system sets most of the time and she's always matched up against the strongest block. That's why She starts well and after some time she starts struggling.
Skinner is doing overall well but she gets mostly fast sets vs the short block of the setter.
This system is not great but somehow is working, so why do you want to change It?

With or without Plummer, USA has been struggling for years now. Has USA performed better with other players and won medals ?No. USA is the only team that has showed up at the Olympics without a core team that has been playing together for years. It's basically improvisation. And that's clearly a COACHING problem.

Plummer isn’t good and never has been her stats for this Olympics are SHAMEFUL. She hits the ball hard and sometimes that helped imoco but she was heavily inflated by the rest of the team. She is not for this level otherwise. Horrible passing, tentative attacking at times, terrible defense etc. in ncaa she was the best ever but it has not translated
