Cambi’s sets to position 4 are complete garbage. Novara almost blew it by giving away 5 points on that service run from Korneluk. I give a slight edge to Novara, if Tolok keeps the same set 4 performance for set 5.

The performance of Conegliano is the worst I have seen since their 3-0 loss against Novara last season. It was a chaotic mess, key players substantially underperforming. De Spirito, Van Aalen, Nervini and Cekulaev outperformed Moki, Wolosz, Gabi and Fahr by far! This is the worst match I’ve ever seen Moki play, I was in shock. Conegliano is lucky they scraped on by because they didn’t deserve this win. No one deserved MVP. Unsure if the team is just exhausted with their CL, WCCH and regular season schedule, and the change of Mikasa/Molten ball for each tournament.
Well done Chieri! Van Aalen should be on the radar of every team considering the current setter drought we are in - she ran a fantastic offense, and connects with all positions. Nervini deserves to upgrade to a top 3 club… she and Van Aalen would fit brilliantly in Imoco…

To compete in top 3, setters have to be able to effectively run their mids. Bosio clearly has severe problems finding Danesi and Hena, and blockers on other team are fully aware of this. Wonder how many of the few balls to the mid were set by Miner in the double sub…

USA doesnt have a demolishing OH at the moment, someone like a Markova/Fedorovtseva/Ana Cristina/prime Zhu Ting. There are consistent scorers though like Lee and Skinner.
One of the main issues for the current US NT incarnation is there is no outlet player to kill OOS balls - they are missing a solid OPP, like JT. M Skinner looked promising based on LOVb but at the international level, she was stopped - not always reliable to predict the performance of a player from LOVb in e.g. Serie a or Turkish league. This put loads of pressure on pos 4.
Second problem in 2024 and 2025 cycles was a weak setter position as Poulter flopped.

I’m very curious for your view on Plummer! She has had injury this season but she is really not one someone can rely on. I would actually consider not even to bring her considering the form Lanier is in as the main OH outlet.

Ever since Kendall Kipp recovered and went to Bergamo, she has had a break out season, always top scorer and being an OOS outlet.
Lanier has shown she had something to prove since leaving her bench-warming position at Conegliano and has been a SLAYING QUEEN all season at Milano. Hope she can keep this form and replicate her success in NT.My NT longlist choices thus far:
S: Fairbanks, KHT, Ewert, Miner, possibly Poulter but I think maybe time to turn that page and invest in younger talent for LA2028OPP: M Skinner, Kipp, Samedy, Babcock
MB: Ogbogu, Rettke, Igiede, Jimerson, Cos-Okpalla, Booth
OH: A Skinner, Lanier, Franklin, Eggleston, Kingdon
Libero: Hentz, Rodriguez, JWO (secretly hoping she returns for one last go)
Possibly clever to bring in a veteran for some stability - Larson or Washington for one final go? -
Conegliano can’t win if only Gabi is scoring and relying for remainder of points on Milano errors.

Herbots is a I can do everything by myself type of player. Taking on more than she can but not as efficiently. Which is why I don't understand how she can be captain of any team (Scandicci/Belgium) it's been obvious for a long time that she's not about that.

Maja is a mess today, can’t connect at all with pos 4. Bosetti is equally terrible today. Pity Scandicci is plagued yet again with foreigner issues. Novara on the other hand looks very strong and as much as I hate to say it, Herbots is really delivering as opp. Igiede is one of the best MBs in the world right now… such a pity she will return to Lovb and the substantially lower level than Italian or Turkish league…
