tbf, Brazil has been unlucky in recent years. Last year, Kudiess' injury. This year, AC's injury could have affected the overall result. Players like Kudiess and AC are capable of changing the outcome of the match. It's a kinda sad every year they lost their main player due to injury before big tournament stars. I know Bergman was Brazil's weakest link vs Italy, but lets not forget Roberta also missed two serves at crucial moments of the sets and otoh, her sets weren't precise at times. I wish Brazil can keep all its players healthy for the next wch and Olympic games

I watched the replay and here are my thoughts ( it might be a bit long, sorry😝). In the 1st set, the serves played a big role in Brazil's success. Btw, I've also seen Serbia use such tactical serves, targeting Sylla in VNL. In the 2nd set, Brazil couldnt maintain the same service pressure and started making unforced errors. And I also realized that if you don't serve well, you almost have no chance against current Italy. MDG will be missed huge time, she is everywhere on the court. Sylla's contribution to Italy's victory is undeniable. Having two top-level OPP makes Italy's job easier, otoh. What caught my attention the most about Brazil was Roberta coming off the bench and making a serve error twice at the most crucial moment of the sets. Bergman wasn't good either. Otoh, Gabi was a true leader for Brazil. Rosamaria had improved a lot compared to VNL. Kudiess aka cuteness:rose:, was a beast on block, contributing 9 block pts, a great prospect. These were my first impressions, sorry if I forgot anything because it's night here and I'm sleepy rn:lol: Overall, it was a great head-to-head match, aka an early final. I want to see such an enjoyable match in the 3rd and final tomorrow:cheesy:

One positive thing about Akbas is that the MBs are starting to contribute more offensively for Japan this year. If my memory serves me right, last year Japan lost all their matches against Poland with Manabe. Congratulations, I can say that I missed this smart and great play of Japan

I watched most of them too. And I don't agree. If she wouldn't be good enough for this role Santarelli would not insist on it. Another thing is that she didn't play as OH from the beginning, she switched to OH and after few years she is used as a backrow sub in a one of the best or the best team in the world.

    don't waste your breath:whistle:

but we must admit level of other two dropped whilst fener got stronger as its wonderkids bloemed. I remember vakif had kelseys, zhus, gabis, haaks, in form zehras whilst ecza had larssons, kyks of the volleyball world.

Eczacibasi's roster won't be bad when Plummer joins the team imo, they can do much better but a better coach is needed. With Ferhat, the sky seems limited to me and no matter which player you bring to the team

As a neutral and unbiased person, I want to write this. Fivb should really stop the nationalization process now because it makes the sport less attractive and interesting. National teams aren't clubs and should not be. Everything shouldn't be so easy and primitive imho. It's my objective opinion whether you like it or not.

The players who have surprised me in a good way so far are Rosamaria, Gong and Drews. They are contributing more to their teams in offense than I expected so far in this tournament

I watched the replay and imho, cutting Milenkovic was a smart move by Gui last year. I'm pretty much okay with Drca being given a chance when Ognjenovic isn't that good, but unnecessary double subs that never worked and the Milenkovic move has left a bad taste so far. If Gui doesn't make such strange choices in the next matches, there is great hope that Serbia will find their rhythm and play better imo.
