Yes the woman is great (especially compared to VBTV standards lol)! According to Wiki, Rob started indeed as a Canadian hockey commentator - and is also a 3x Paralympian. I wonder how he got into volleyball, through commentating OG/PGs or if there's a more personal story

And maybe Japan was not that great in Ottawa and their opponents were just bad during first week?
Canada was in full force (minus Gray) and home crowd, but NL / Serbia had a lot of youngsters and DR had to adjust to "new" setter Ariana. But most of all these teams are not known for their best service reception, while Japan cooked up very high service pressure that week. So yeah opponents were not in their optimal forms but also Japan played better than these first two sets!

Japan is nowhere near their Ottowa level whereas Thailand has improved compared to week 1. Let's see if they can continue or if Japan has woken up now.Also that soft dump from Chatchu-on (when she didn't recycle or smashed it in) was so smart
