Freaking Onuma still slaying at 38 yo

Who would have thought Monolith will push Nakhon Ratchasima to fifth set! I love the spiking armswing of Alinsug but she needs to improve her floor defence a lot.
-
Good showing from the Ph girlies but the last frontline in the 24-25 score is so small!!! And both Solomon and Belen were at the back.
-
Good performance from Belen and Solomon reaching 50% attack efficiency but sadly the rest of their teammates are meh
-
How did our Japan girlies perform in the Italian Courmayeur cup? Especially Fukudome and Mayu?
-
At this point, almost all of the first 7 players of the cool smashers (and back-up Oh - Pons, and back-up Opp - Michele Gumabao) received MVP awards!
-
well atleast Japanese passport is strong 😅

They were somewhat statistical. I think Perez ultimately usurp Tushova (#1 Scorer, #3 Spiker,#8 Server, #29 Digger, #40 Blocker = 40 +38+37+ 0+ 12) since she is #11 Receiver, #4 Scorer, #13 Digger, #10 Spiker, #5 Server (30+37+28+31+36). She practically leap over her through Blocking and Digging. Tubu winning over PLDT's Santos is weird though. Santos (#7 Spiker, #9 Blocker, #18 Scorer, #51 Serve, #33 Digger) got 95 stat points over Tubu's 75 (#5 Spiker, #14 Scorer, #34 Blocker, #20 Server) . Eroa definitely won the best libero, so does Clemente and Baron for MB.
On CIG vs PLDT: CIG just have more drive and has better distribution. They always weird me out since they tend to be not the best reception and efficiency wise but they just keep going up against top tier teams. Its kinda sad that they were fighting for third yet again. They really put themselves in that position when they let AKA win against them.
On CCS vs AKA: The common component to be competitive against CCS is to have openers that can receive heavy serves and still be focused after being dug to high heavens. Only PLDT, CIG and CMFT (on a good day),and PGA can really do that to them. Lacsina is still not on that level. She can can be service targeted (which she did fine - not the best) but she really floundered in her offense. CCS just played their game and defeated them squarely. A lot of first timers on their side in the finals too.
Ahhh that is good to know that the best 6 is justifiable. Happy that Pons finally got her MVP! I think she was the MVP favorite in the last year of her College/Uni career but Majoy edged her out (?).
Surprisingly, Ivy had an okay-good reception. But what annoys me the most ever since she chose to be a wing spiker is her goddamn approach. She does not generate power on her approach and relies too much on wrist (still very middle like). Hope Taka would convince her to adopt the more natural OH spiking approach else she will just be like Dindin 2.0. There but not really there.

The best 6 seems weird... I don't think some of them were the statistical leaders. Looks like they just picked one per team.

What a strong showing for Creamline considering also they are missing practically their 3 starting wingers who are all past MVPs, this season. Such a deep bench and good system
Also no JIA!
-
PONS! She has like 5 million lucky points this match haha
-
I love watching Pons

What a beautiful couple!

PVL Championship now - Akari vs CCS. First time I see a team/player being heavily booed in the Philippines. I kinda feel bad for the Akari girlies.

tersic would be good for the German team. No one will cry. They will meet him head on. He'll be screaming and Orthman would have not hesitate to argue back at him.
I hope Lippman gets back to indoors. She already fullfilled her dream of becoming an Olympian.
Same with the Dutchies. Dutch straightforwardness can match him lol. But for me I just want the Dutch NT to be developed more as Terzic seems to be good at that. There is a lot of young talents that can still be improved like Baijens and Van Aalen.
-
Wishful thinking but hoping for a Terzic to the Dutch NT

Maddie going to Japan! what a surprise!!! I hope she can get back to her former self as she has not been that effective lately. Her body frame is really for volleyball, I have a feeling her game will be back in Japan.

Congrats to Italy, well deserved! Looking back from the beginning of VNL, Italy was on a mission, they have prepared for the OG so well that, that should be a lesson to other teams.
I can’t see the future, but my educated guess tells me that USA will always be fighting for the top, we have a very good college league and now with the professional league as well, USA will be fighting for the gold in LA 2028. Knowing how Ana C plays plus their young MBs, I am not worried about Brazil, they will be fighting for the podium as well.
For Europe you have those three nations who will be fighting for the top spot. Italy, Turkiye and Serbia. Compare Italy for this year vs. last year. Last year they were in limbo, disorganized, etc. vs this year they highly organized, focused, etc. Funny that was exactly the opposite of what happened to Turkiye. It is all in preparation. Look at the first week of VNL where Egonu, Fahr, etc were taking care of their injuries and not playing games vs Zehra, Ilkin, and Hande, they were all playing instead of taking care of their bodies. And at the end it was Egonu, Fahr palyed the best whereas Zehra, Hande couldn’t played. However, the future is bright for them, Vargas is only 24, same with Hande, Zehra, Elif, beside Erdem they are all young plus they have more young players coming up. I wouldn’t be surprised if they win the next year’s VNL. Same with Serbia, I wrote it here that why Serbia wasn’t playing with their A team in VNL at least from the second week and on to get prepared for the OG. It’s all in preparations.
I am not familiar with Asian teams, but I would think China and Japan will always put a good team for the next OG.
For Japan, I hope that they naturalize the 1.93 middle blocker prospect - Jaja Santiago. Japan badly needs height. They also have upcoming tall opposite (1.86m) and just 18yo Miku Akimoto. Hope they gamble on them as Japan prioritizes defence sometimes.

Egonu deserves the MVP! I was kinda sad a bit that only Lubian (?) rushed to hug her after the final point.
