anyway i do suspect they gave danesi some award simply because they realised the other 3 awardees are captains.

im assuming MVP needs to be given to someone who is best at one of the positions right? otherwise it wouldnt make sense to be MVP but not be the best at something. i really thought that Julia K would get something but oh well, it’s just ‘unfortunate’ (i don’t mean skills wise) that they ended up at 3rd and FIVB seems to have already changed the internal/hidden award rules (where 1st gets most awards, and so on)

same with Sylla… wish she had gotten best OH. although Ishikawa was definitely the most deserving out of the entire Japanese team in this tournament imo

Also i still can’t forget the incredible fast set and spike by WYY. i wanna see more of zhang zi xuan.

I still really hate the way the groups were seeded though. 32 teams and 8 groups is not it

This was honestly such a fun tournament.

We have Slovenia seeded as the fourth but coming out as the top 2 of the group.
We had France giving Brazil a run for their money.
We had Netherlands taking out the world champs.
We had France destroying China.
Germany has also ascended to a new level.

Numerous 5 setters.

I had more fun in this tournament than the VNLs and even OG24.

Congratulations to all the teams that put up an amazing fight, and hopefully we get to watch of such amazing performances in the years to come. May the young squads grow exponentially
