Congratulations to Conegliano, but the hard-fought victory against Scandicci, which featured a not-at-its-best Antropova (12 points with 35 attacks with 3 errors and 5 blocks - I think that means an efficiency of 11%) doesn't seem exactly fantastic to me. It must be said, however, that in the final of each set Conegliano played as they always do.

From a quick glance, it seems like the selected group is quite mature; I don't see many very young players. I thought that, with a view to returning to international competition in the coming years, it would have been wiser to focus more on the younger players. That's my opinion.

I'd say good, but not great. Attacking 35.1% with 29.8 efficiency, receiving 40.2% positive and 24.1% perfect.
A question for our Polish friends, Olivia Różański is having a dominant season in Japan, I remember her in Italy being good but not phenomenal (she wasn't a regular starter), even in the national team I don't think she was a starter, but has she improved a lot or is the level in Japan low?

Fener's actual debt is more like €350M, the rest are collaterals for credit. Galatasaray has more actual debt than Fener for example (in the €500M range). 90% of the debt is from the football division which is the largest and very reckless financially. It doesn't matter that much because Erdogan allows Turkish clubs to operate at levels of debt that wouldn't be possible for other clubs. Any Turks correct if I'm wrong.

Not to beat a dead horse but winning Best Setter (since she's in the winning team) is one thing but giving her a whole MVP is a very different merit. Did she deserve it? absolutely not. She was far from the best player in the team who really held everything together. If she wasn't playing the 2 best opps her sets wouldn't have gotten any team further into the competition. But a lot of people were saying that even though she twisted her ankle(?) or some type of injury she still played the entire set and I can't remember which one or how many sets which is commendable but certainly not for that award. The Best Setter award was sufficient for that.

I understand that many people dislike Orro, but... either Velasco doesn't understand volleyball, or there aren't any better setters in Italy... and are Fenerbahçe incompetent enough to choose her? And finally, maybe a setter isn't that important to winning a World Cup/Olympic Championship. But it's also possible, and perhaps probable, that I don't understand much about volleyball either.

Their performance also depends on their reception percentages and the quality of their attackers. Pass accuracy is difficult to evaluate. Even deciding who receives the set isn't easy. She may be overrated, but I don't think Orro is a terrible setter. Otherwise, Velasco and the Fenerbahçe management wouldn't have wanted her on their team. But still, I think a team with a poor setter can't win the Olympics, World Cups, or VNL... of course, this is just my humble opinion.
