Still no official announcement of Anja to Tenerife? That surprises me. Spain's superliga has a deadline for transfers (March 28, 2008 ). I have a bad feeling about Tenerife and Anja's eligibility for the play-offs now. Hopefully they were able to work out Anja's papers on time.

Is she staying in Tenerife the next year also, or only until the end of this season? Anja needs some stability now, I don't think the season in Volero was really all that good for her.
For now, the agreement is for until the end of the season (mid-May) although the article says that if things go well, they could discuss regarding a contract for next season.

If I have my translation right, it says that Spasojevic will arrive at the first fortnight of April so she will most likely be finishing up with Volero and then join Tenerife right after. If I remember correctly, Spain's superliga allows 8 foreigners in a club, so Spasojevic arriving means someone goes...

Lausanne, March 14, 2008 – The FIVB Board of Administration agreed on Friday to an addendum to make more specific the first decision of the number of Club players from other National Federations that will be forwarded to the 31st World Congress in June.
For a period of two years as from 2008 (2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons), European National Federations obliged to abide by the rules of the European Union are free to grant any player from another Federation of the Union the right to play instead of their local players.

Quick update on Tenerife: With the current state of the club, they have changed head coaches. Belgian coach Jan De Brandt takes over the head coaching duties for the rest of the season. The club is also looking to possibly bring in a new player.

Is it just me, or does Logan Tom barely get swings at the ball in Dinamo?
Watched 4 of their matches this season so far and agree with Matthias. I have the following impressions on Tom in Dinamo:
1. Gratcheva and Tom not yet connecting well. Gratcheva sticks to a style of setting that is old school Russian. Very slow and very high balls to the outsides and opposite. This style of setting caters to Gamova the best, but Tom prefers hitting a faster tempo offense to the outside. So far, she and Gratcheva have not found their rhythm setting and hitting.
2. Dinamo uses 2 person serve receive (Tom and Libero) in matches depending on who is playing Opposite. Total team reception in first 7 matces (Champions League and Superleague) is 525 receptions. Tom has received 264 (over 50%). This has probably affected her hitting.
3. Tom hits on the left during 1 serve receive when she is front row, and hits on the right for 2 rotations. She gets a normal number of kills from the right, but is better hitting on the left.
Anyways, still long season ahead. Important matches coming up in January.
