Canter, It just started 5 minutes ago

Are you kidding me? Dutch tie at 27!
-
Modena was my bet for the championship but Trentino proved better

Congratulations to Trentino and Giannelli, MVP

Fivb has changed the procedure of team rankings in round robin round. number of matches won is now more important than total points.
With this procedure Iran could have won a bronze medal at 2013 men's grand champions cup!I think it's a good change. IMO, Win-Loss record is a better indicator of team performance in rankings (as used by CEV in Champions League round robin).
I hope they use it for World Cup next year.

Congrats to RC Cannes -- one more championship to cap off a prestigious career for Ravva

What a night in Paris! The men's final and women's final definitely gave the fans their money's worth

Both come from behind wins were stunning

Tom is not in playing roster for french league match this week. I don't know the nature of it (if injury) but RC Cannes had only 11 players. Don't know if she will travel to Piacenza.
Tom travelled to Piacenza ( afaik Champions League penalizes teams who travel with incomplete rosters) but she's not to play.

Wth a win over Kazan, Agel Prostejov eliminates Omsk and Nantes for the Playoffs 12

Prostejov, Dresdner and Piacenza into the top 13

-
Rabita is forcing a 5th set against Chemik. If Rabita wins the match, they eliminate Omsk for the spot in the Playoffs 12.
If Rabita loses, it will be Dredsner, Piacenza and Omsk (as the 13th team will advance to the playoffs 12 in the spot vacated by the host)

What a pity for italian temas yesterday night. Piacenza had a lot of chances to close the game but didn't do it, Busto lost with a serve error and the point was wrong.
Anyway do you know which are the possibilities for them to qualify for the next round?
As it stands now, Piacenza can still qualify for the Playoffs 12 as one of the 'two best ranked 3rd place teams"
If they win against Cannes, that should advance them to the playoffs
On the bubble:
Dresdner at 3-2 (7pts)
Teams at 2-3: Piacenza (8pts), Omsk(7pts), Rabita (6pts) -
What a match Vakifbank - Piacenza

Vakifbank wins 21-19 in 5th set

Tough loss for Piacenza. They had a handful of match points but couldn't close it out. Biggest chance was when Valdez hit the ball down on an open net but she touched the net in the follow through.
Exciting 5th set

Very bad for her. Will she find a new club?
It's only January so hopefully transfer windows are still open. But Yaneva has played for Kazan in Champions League so she can't play European Cup for other teams for the rest of the season and that would limit her options.
-
My initial thought was concern -- that she got stung on the face by a bee or something and had an allergic reaction.
But I quickly realized it was her new "look".
Then I felt so mean

Sounds like Rob Hatch is commentating.
Can anyone watching the match confirm? -

Question - I am still getting use to the rules of Volleyball. In the Kazan-Krasnodar match, Ambroskina did not suit up as libero. She came in the second set when Kazan leading 23-20. What position did she play?
Likely a backrow passing substitute (passing/defensive specialist).

RC Cannes with quite a bit of lineup shuffling. With Ebata and Faucette on the court at the same time, RC Cannes situationally switched to 2-person serve receive, loading Tom and Ortschitt in reception attempts, but leaving Ebata and Faucette free to attack. Everyone getting some playing time except for Maret Grothues (in the gym watching the match). Hope she is ok.

Sundy just butchers Chirichella's name all week

"Chir-che-la"

sunderland is certainly very knowledgeable about VB but he is a bit … confused about names and facts often.
I am 100% positive that starting NOW, Sunderland will pronounce her name correctly (Kirikella)

ITA vs CHN in the semis
