I don't know if it was mentioned but Foluke had an injury in the first set against Kazakhstan.. I am not sure if she pulled a muscle or felt discomfort in her knee, you can watch the replay and see it -

If it turns out to be more serious then it would be a big blow for the USA having 2 injured MBs and 2 inexperienced.. And also Foluke was one of the most important players of the team
I saw yesterday, and I still could understand exactly what she felt...the way the physiotherapist was moving her it seemed more like hips or something...maybe some muscle in the leg...
anyway, the tv showed her in the bench later, she didnt seem to be putting ice anywhere...and after the game she seemed to be moving ok...so...lets hope it was nothing serious.
Not Foluke's hip, but her knee.
Hopefully just a minor tweak.

I started watching mid-match and it turned out to be close and that 5th set really could have gone to either team

Even as Harmotto made the team, USA coaches took a long time to make the decision to include her in the WCH team because she is coming back from injury. They'll be monitoring her match to match. She's been working very hard to come back and right now even a less-than-100% Harmotto still brings a lot to the USA team.
Managing an injury-risk player for a two-week WCH tournament for USA would be different from a 6-month season which probably factors into Piacenza's hesitation...
